うーん、ちょっとの差ですでに回答されていたな。オッサンの答え、何の役にも立たなかった。じゃあ、いつも熱心に勉強しているb1G2Qさんのために余計なことまで答えちゃおう。 meals と複数になってるから、その少年は1回こっきりじゃなくていつも習慣的に手を洗うように言われてることが「s」がついているだけでわかるわけです。厳しいですね。で、これが meals じゃなくて the meal だったら、何かある特定の時のことに限定されます。それから every meal だったら、meals よりもっともっと厳しい、たった一度の例外も許さない「何が何でも毎回手を洗わなければ」って感じが出ます。ちなみに every となったら「1回1回の」っていう意味なので単数です、これ試験でよく出ます。

brush one's teeth しかないと思っていました。 しかし、子供が中学校でもらってきた動名詞の学習プリントに Wash your teeth before going to bed. (寝る前に歯を磨きなさい） とありました。 Wash one's teeth という言い方もするのでしょうか？ どなたか、よろしくお願い致します。

He has the odd freckle or copper colored spot on the backs of his hands, but no defects.
