Of all the vehicles, buses are the greenest. “The Greenest” means “the cleanest”. And buses occupy less space. That’s why we should use buses more often to clean the air, lessen traffic jams and save the environment of the earth. Ｂ You can see a poster which encourages us to use buses more often. Buses stop running engines when they stop at crossings or traffic signals. That’s why we can say buses are “the Greenest.” They use much space but can have many passengers in them. Therefore, buses are economically friendly. To save fuel supplies, we have to use buses as often as we can!

下の文で、わからなくて困ってるんですが、解説してください。 (1)Englishmen will never be slaves:they are free to do whatever the goverment and public opinion allow them to do. この文です、直訳は、「英国人は二度と奴隷にはならないだろう:彼らは、政府や公衆意見が彼らに何をすることを許しても、彼らはするのに自由だ。」なんかわけわからない訳ですが、このwhateverからしたがどこがわからないのかもわからない状況です。free to do のところもwhatever からしたを目的語としているのですか? (2)We are born with so much natural rhythm and harmony, and we have to search fo and develop ways of maintaining both. この訳回答では、「我々はほどほどのリズムとハーモニーを持ってしか生まれてこない。だから、この両方を維持する方法を探し出し、発達させなければならない。」ですが、自分では「私たちはあまりにたくさんの自然のリズムとハーモニーを持ってのみ生まれ、そして、ふたつを維持する方法を探し出し、そしてはったつさせなければならない。」 だと思ったんですが、自分の前半の役と模範解答のやつは違っていて、「わたしたちはあまりにたくさんの生まれつきのリズムとハーモニーを持って生まれた」ではだめと書いてあったんですが、解説を読んでもよくわかりませんでしたので詳しく教えてください。 この二文の解説お願いします
