おそらくthoseだと思います。 以下のURLに多少のヒントがあるとおもいます。 http://www.differencebetween.net/language/difference-between-these-and-those/ theseはみじかにある事柄で２個以上の場合となっておりますが、thoseは距離がある場合の他に概念、アイデア、考えなどのように無形のものを含みますと記載されています。この観点に立ちますとCurrent issuesと述べられておりますように具体的な事柄ではないので選択としてはthoseとなると思います。 なた上記のURLでもwriggleという言葉をもちいてどちらかに決めるには悩ましい所があると述べております。

どちらも使います。 単数だと this, that 日本語でも同じ。 前に出てきたことを受ける指示語は「これ」も「それ」も同じ。

areを'reと短縮する言い方があると思うのですが、 there're (there are ) those're (those are) these're (these are) what're (what are) when're (when are) というのはあまり見かけない気がするのですが、（もちろん、きちんとした文書には使えないというのは知っているつもりですが。）まれ／特別ですか？ネイティブの人でもあまり使わないものでしょうか？ 同様に、（名前はSamでなくてもいいんですが） Sam'll (Sam will) Sam's (Sam has) Sam'd (Sam had, Sam would) it'd (it had, it would) という短縮の仕方のもあまりみかけない気がします。言いにくいからでしょうか？あまりやらない方がよい短縮の仕方でしょうか？ どう質問したらよいかわからず、まとまっていませんが、何か教えていただけたらと思います。よろしくお願いします。

センター試験の文法問題で、 Respectable activities are those approved of by society because they are considered to be fair and honest. という文の文頭の Respectable を選択させる問題がありましたが、この文の those が何を指すのかわかりません。 those who の who が省略されたものだと思ったのですが、違うような気がします。
