No. 3 です。 No. 4さんが紹介してくれたリンクの方がもっと分かりやすい例ですね。 sarcastic （皮肉の）表現は書き言葉になると意味がとりにくいですよね。話し言葉の "Yeah, right." は独特の抑揚があるので、洋画、コメディ番組などを見る機会があったら注意して聴いてみてください。

下記に、近い例があります。 http://eow.alc.co.jp/right/UTF-8/?ref=ex&exp=TANPEN13&dn=2056241&dk=EJ&pg=39 例は泥棒の容疑者が"I just borrowed it."（「ちょっと借りただけよ」）と言ったあとにあります。 "Yeah, right..."（「ああ、そうだね…」） と訳してありますが、意味は「あなたがそう言うなら、そういうことにしておくけど私は信じない、この嘘つき！」です。 実際の会話では、音程を下げて「とか何とか言ってるけど」と同意しないことを表す時に使います。口先では「はい、その通り」と言っているが、共感できないと言う意味です。 正しい訳はいろいろあるでしょうが、「はいはい、おっしゃる通りでしょうとも」などと原文の皮肉が表現できればいいと思います。

これより前の文章を読んで、 意味を推測してみました☆ Many years ago I worked with a woman who was constantly off sick with a variety of complaints. She left after just six months in the job, claiming the office was making her ill. この部分をまとめて訳すと 「何年か前、しょっちゅう病欠する同僚がいた。 『全部会社のせいですから！』と、 結局彼女は６ヶ月で辞めていった。」 この部分を受けて、ご質問の部分の訳 「たしかに私たちは誰一人として（彼女が病欠していることについて） 同情的ではなかった、と思う。 だから『あぁ、そうだね。』と言ったのだが、 これで、結局、彼女の言い分を認めたような形になってしまった。」 こんな感じだったら意味が通ると思うのですが、 どうでしょうか？ I have to admit は、これより前の部分を受けているので、 「ーーーー、ということは認めざるを得ない」 ↓ 「たしかにーーーーーだったと思う」 など、ちょっと意訳してあります☆

特に間違ってはいないのではないかと思います。 私たちは同感しかねたのだが、とりあえず 「そうだね」 と言っておいた。今になってみると、彼女の言ったことは間違っていなかったように思われる。 といったところではないでしょうか。 > 「そうだ、その通り」と認めざる得ない I have to admit は現在形ですから、I have to admit that the rest off us weren’t very sympathetic で、「（その時は） 私たちはそうは思わなかったと認めざるを得ないけれども・・・」 という感じではないでしょうか。

I have been dating a wonderful man for about four months now. He is a model boyfriend 90 percent of the time, but it’s that 10 percent that concerns me. He binge drinks and when he does his personality changes significantly. He goes from being a kind-hearted caring man to someone that ignores me for long periods of time, is nasty, and blames me for everything. All his friends are huge drinkers. He does not drink daily, but tells me that once he starts he cannot stop. It happens at least four times a month. He apologizes and seems truly sincere and sad, and then it just keeps happening. He refuses to admit he has a problem. I want to give him an ultimatum, but everyone advises against it. I cannot deal with the drinking, but I truly love the rest of him. 仮定法の 3rd conditionalとmixed conditionalについて質問です。 If I had got up earlier, I wouldn't have missed the bus. このような3rd conditionalについては理解できています。 次に、 If I had got up earlier, I would be on the bus. 「もし～していたら、今頃～なのに」 このようなif節が、「主語 + 過去完了形」、後ろが「would + 動詞の原形」のmixed conditionalも理解できます。 しかし映画などを見ていると、 (1)If I didn't have you to worry about, I would have clobbered her. (2)If it weren't for Sophie, I would have been a scarecrow for the rest of my life. などのような先ほどのmixed conditionalとは逆のmixedがよくでてきます。 （ちなみにこの文は「ハウルの動く城」の英語版の字幕からです） これがどういう意味なのか、いまいちよくわかりません。 例えば(2)の文で、 If it hadn't been for Sophie, I would have been a scarecrow.... にしたら意味がどう変わるのでしょうか？ ここの違いがよくわからないので、教えていただけたら嬉しいです。 それと、仮定法には全部でいくつの種類があるのでしょうか？ 私が知っているのは、 1st conditional 2nd conditional 3rd conditional mixed conditional zero conditional です。 （すみませんが、日本語での呼ばれ方はよくわかっていません） ほかにも何かあるのでしょうか？
