バンドでEaglesのTake it easyをやっているのですが、原曲が歌詞の通りに聞こえなくて正しい歌詞が分からなく困っています。 ネットで歌詞を探したのですが、 二番目の歌詞に Well, Im a standing on a corner In winslow, arizona And such a fine sight to see Its a girl, my lord, in a flatbed Ford slowin down to take a look at me Come on, baby, dont say maybe とありますが、Ford slowin down to take a look at meのところの「down」が「never」に聞こえるような気がします。 本当のところはどうなのでしょうか？

順番に説明すると、flatbedのあとで切れるのではなく「flatbed Ford」という車種名のあとで切れます。この車を運転している女性が「速度を落として(slow down)」自分を「見る(take a look)」わけですよね。 で、たまたまライヴ・ヴァージョンを見つけて試聴しましたが、私には「down」にしか聞こえませんでした。歌い方としては… フラッベッフォー(flatbed Ford) スロインダウヌ(slowin' down to) テカ(take a) ルカッ(look at) ミ(me) って感じなんですけどね。 ご自分たちの「Take it Easy」を歌ってみたください。ちなみに今後、こういうご質問は、英語のカテに投稿したほうが素早く回答がつくかもしれませんね。

ミシェル・ブランチを最近知りました。 ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?っていう曲なんですが、さびのところの歌詞が LOOK ME IN THE EYEとなっています。（歌詞というか気になったのはLOOK ME）だけなのですが。。。。） 中学のときにLOOK MEというのは習いませんでした。 LOOK AT MEじゃなくてもいいのでしょうか？ そもそも意味が違うのかな・・・ 歌詞サイトでもwww.sing365.comなどでも、歌詞がのっていますが、 look at meじゃないみたいです。 どなたかご存じの方教えて下さい。 日本版のｃｄ買えば意味載ってるのかもしれないのですが、輸入盤しか持っていないのと、結構日本版の日本和訳適当だったりするので・・・

この歌詞はマザーグースのクリスマスソングだそうで、いろいろなバーンジョンがあると聞きますが、質問があります。 １、私の持っている歌詞は On the twelfth day of Christmas,my true love gave to me となっているのですが,giveではなくsentとなっているのもよく見かけます。欧米ではどちらが主流なんでしょうか。 ２、歌詞の中で ten lords a-leaping, nine ladies dancing, eight maids a-milking, とありますが、a-…は文法的にどう解釈したらいいのですか。 Twelve drummers drumming, eleven pipers piping, の部分にはa-がないのですが、何か区別があるのですか。 ３、 On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me Five golden rings, Four calling birds, Three French hens, Two turtle doves, And a partridge in a pear tree. のcalling bird のかわりに違う鳥の名前になっていた歌詞もあったのですが、どうしても思い出せません。ｃではじまるのですが、ご存知の方があったら教えてください。 ４、 １２番までの歌詞はそれぞれキリスト教の教えに関係しているらしいのですが、教えていただけないでしょうか。また参考さいとなどありましたら紹介してください。 よろしくお願いします。

ありがとうございます。 自分が持っている音源もライブバージョンでした。 ライブバーションだから歌詞がちょっと違うように聞こえたのかなぁ？とも思っていましたが、、、 そうですか、downにしか聞こえませんか…。 ＞スロインダウヌ(slowin' down to) テカ(take a) ルカッ(look at)ミ(me) こうやって実際に歌ってみると、 うん、確かにそう歌ってますね。 一度downと聞こえ出すと、もうdownにしか聞こえない。 ここはコーラスとハモるとこなんで、歌詞を合わせなくてはいけなかったので正確な歌詞が知りたかったのです。 助かりました。 ありがとうございました。 追伸： 英語カテですね。これは。バンド＝趣味で選んじゃいました。
