私たちの先輩は、土と砂を選んだのですね。 で、英語圏では"It's raining cats and dogs！"というのだそうです。 NECのメルマガからの知識ですが。 他の言語圏ではどんなのがあるのでしょうか？ ご存じでしたらどうかお教えください。

これらの表現が具体的に英語でどのような語句を指すのかが、いまいち分かりません。 一応、現段階での認識を下に載せましたが、合っているでしょうか。 句 意味を成すひとまとまりの語句。 ”in the rain”や”a lot of books” など。 熟語 2語以上の決まり文句 “at first”や”a lot of”など。 成句 熟語のうち、個々の単語とは全く異なる意味になるもの ”It’s raining cats and dogs”や” It's all Greek to me”など。 慣用句 成句と同じ イディオム 成句と同じ。 ご回答いただければ幸いです。

外国のスーパーでバターの代わり間違ってチーズを買ってしまい、すぐにとって返してバターと交換してほしい時って Excuse me, I misetook the cheeses for the burtters, and bought the cheeses instead of the butteres . Can I exchange the cheeses for the butteres? でいいですか？ まちがいありますよね？ 何度もチーズ、バターって行ってるのおかしいと思うけど、どっちをどの代名詞にかえればいいのでしょうか？ それとも and boughtからその分の終わりまでは不必要ですか？ あと、英語でどしゃぶりのことをIt is cats and dogsっていいますよね？ いつも、この言葉を使いとき語源が気になってなりません・・・。 空から猫や犬が降ってくるみたいにものすごい雨ってことなのかなあ？ 簡単なことで質問してしまってすみません。 よろしくお願いします。

カナダのペンパルと、メールのやり取りをしはじめました。とっても楽しく、英語が好きになり始めています。しかしネイティブは本当に難しい...先日我が家の犬の写真を送ってあげました。その返事に Awww........I think your dog is cute! I love it! I love animals but dogs and cats in general. It's fur must be thick and plushy enough to bury your face in! awww...... たぶん、犬をかわいいと褒めてくれ、たんだと思いますが、後がわかりません。

Compared to their body size,they have the biggest eyes of all mammals. They can see six times better in the dark than people can. Cat owners also find that their pets spend a lot of time sleeping. Both domestic and wild cats sleep for sixteen to twenty hours a day. Sometimes cats which are playing suddenly lie down and fall asleep. But they can wake up right away and be ready to chase their prey at any time. Cat owners love watching their cats play with a string or a ball. It's true that humans first tamed cats because they were useful. But today,we keep cats as pets because they have cute looks and mysterious personalities. よろしくお願いします

お願いします。英語で毎日、日記を付けています。以下見られても問題ないので、添削頂けると助かります It rained on and off today. I was very worried whether fireworks show would perform or not as schedule. Sometimes it came down in buckets. Consequently, the rain had let up before the fireworks display. Family T and Family S came to my house to see that. Last year, I placed a table in balcony and ate a supper while stood up. But, this year, I spread a mat and ate it while sat down. My relatives, friends, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Many fireworks filled the sky. It was great. But, it started raining again during the fireworks. Since it was cats and dogs, I thought it might be call off, but it did not. I appreciated this fireworks show’s organizer.

My sister-in-law saved us. My husband lost his job just after our baby was born, and we got evicted from our apartment. His sister had converted her attached garage into a studio apartment to rent. It is actually nicer than our old place: It has newer appliances and a shower that doesn’t leak, and it’s within walking distance of stores, shops, and the bus. I am very, very grateful to her. I also can’t breathe in her house. たった今、レンタルで見たのですが、ひどいの一言なんです。でネット上で、検索してみると、これまた最高だとか、泣けたとか、正直言ってこれほど、訳のわかんない映画は、見たこと無いってぐらいひどいと思ってます。 人によって感想が違うってのは、当然のことだと思うのですが、『良い』と思った方、一体、どこが良いのか教えてください。 あとどこかの批評で見たのですが、英語がわかる人にしか、理解できないとのコメントもありました。以下がその抜粋なのですが・・・。 ------------------------------------------------- この映画はアメリカ南部のお話だという事が大切なんだそうだ。 どしゃぶり雨 というのを英語でいうと 「cat and dogs」というのは中学生の時に習ったが、 これをアメリカ南部の方言で表現すると・・・ ここが実に大切なんだそうです。 気になる方は自力で調べてください。 ------------------------------------------------- もしわかる人いたら教えてください。 正直言って、オレの三時間返してくれって感じなんで。
