文法的解釈ができません

いちおう基本的なことを言っておくと、whoseはここでは人を先行詞としますから、of whichとはなりません。 先行詞が物だったとしても、 語順はof of which mindではなく、of the mind of whichですね。of whichはwhoseがかかる名詞の後ろに置かれますから(whoseが消えると無冠詞になるからmindの前にtheを置く)。 いずれにせよ、原文の先行詞と関係詞の距離がすでに長いですから、そういう書き換えは可能でも悪文とされるでしょう（先行詞が分かりにくいし、ofが二つも間に入るし）。ただ純粋に文法的に言うと可能だと思います。 元の文を解釈する場合、the peculiar turn ofを's peculiar turnと書き換えると理解しやすいかと思います。つまり、 He is the one whose mind's peculiar turn best fits～. この文は He is the one. His mind's peculiar turn best fits～. の後ろの文のhisがwhoseに変わって二文をつないでいるわけです。 元の文でも同じことです（his→whoseで二文をつなぐ）。 the one ときた後に、the peculiar turn of～と続く形は、たしかにちょっと力技っぽいですね。でも、文法的には問題ないかと思います。

What is that black building of which roof you can see from here? →which roofじゃ、「どの屋根」の意味になるから違うだろうな… 3. What is that black building the roof of which you can see from here? →じゃあ roof をof which の前に出したらどうだろう でも What is that black building で文章が出来上がってるので、この後に続く the roof of which～がどうも納得いかない いや、この the roof of which～は building を修飾しているから有リかもしれない とあやふやなまま試行錯誤しています。 考えた3つの文章の中に答えがあるかないかもわかりません。 この二つの文を一つにまとめる手順がわかる方、ご教示願えませんでしょうか。 宜しくお願い致します。

書き換え可能かどうか教えてください。 In the suburbs there is a rocky hill, on the top of which an ancient castle stands. 上の英文の on ～ stands 部分を on whose top an ancient stands と書き換えることはできるのでしょうか。よく the roof of which を whose roof で書き換えることはできますが…この場合はどうでしょうか。

回答ありがとうございます。 御回答のように He is the one whose mind's peculiar turn best fits～. であれば文法的に正しいと考えますが、 He is the one the peculiar turn of whose mind best fits～. 私はこの文法が間違っていると考えています。 と言うのも、文法的に He lives in a house whose roof is red. のwhoseは of which と置き換えられる ↓ He lives in a house of which roof is red. (正しい） ↓ He lives in a house the roof of which is red.（と倒置も文法的に出来る。だからhouse〔名詞〕とthe roof〔名詞〕が続いても文法的に問題はない。正しい文章） 質問は １）He lives in a house the roof whose is red. は正しい文章ですか？ ２）He lives in a house the roof of whose is red. ならば正しいのですか？
