By the time, by then 文 By the time I got to the party, most of the other guests had left. のようにby the time文より、後の文はもひとつ過去になるので had+ part participleになるのはわかるのですが、 (1) I had a lot of work to do last night. I was very tired by the time I finished. (2) By the time I finished my work, it was too late to go shopping. (1)の文は by the time を whenのように訳してもいいのではないか？ 「～終ったときにはとても疲れていた。」と。 (2)の文は 「～仕事を終えた頃には（までには） 買い物に行くのには遅くなりすぎていた。」となる。 この考え方は あってますでしょうか？ 確認がしたいです。 よろしくお願いいたします。

独学で英語の勉強をしはじめて2年ほどになりますが、byとwithの違いがわかっていないことに気がつきました。今日、出会った文に「she was blown away with my test results」というのがありますが、文の中のwithをbyに変えることはできるのでしょうか。また、ニュアンス的にはどれほど変わってしまうのでしょうか。回答おねがいします。

質問です。お願いします。 「彼は公園を歩いているとき、帽子を吹き飛ばされた」と言うような文がありました。確か前半は分詞構文でした。後半は次のとおりです。 he had his hat blown off まず、念には念を入れて確認したいのですが、hadとなっている理由はhaveは助動詞的に使われているのではなく、動詞として使われているので時勢に合わせて過去形になった、と理解して良いですよね。 次に１番疑問に思ったのがblown his hat offとならない理由です。代名詞など漠然としたものは間に挟むと覚えていました。もしかして、「風が吹く」と言うのは自動詞なので、自動詞+前置詞なのではさめないのかなぁと今書いていて思いました。 僕の推測の真偽と自動詞+前置詞の(受験で出そうな)例を出来るだけ教えてください。 お願いします。

(to get same cool air) 上記を → The window was opened to get same cool air by my mother. としたのですが、模範解答では The window was opened by my mother to get same cool air. となっていました。 自分の解答では間違えているでしょうか。その場合、説明もお願いします。
