英文の和訳で分からないところがあります。 Why do we smile when we see a baby? に続く一文で、 Perhaps it's because we see someone without all the defensive layers, someone whose smile for us we know to be fully genuine and innocent. という文が続くのですが、この文の後半部、someone whose smile for us we know to be fully genuine and innocentというところの構造が分かりません。someone who smiles for us ～だったら、who smiles for usとwe know to be fully genuine and innocentがどちらもsomeoneを修飾していると理解できるのですが。 どなたかご教示ください。

How should the law treat a mentally disturbed person who commits a criminal offense? should individuals whose mental faculties are impaired be held responsible for their actions? 大変初歩的なことで恐縮なんですが、疑問文を素早く訳せません。 疑問文の文章の読み方を教えていただけないでしょうか。 全く読めないわけではなく、後ろから返り読みすれば（時間をかければ）読めます。 前から読もうとすると読めません。 「犯罪行為を犯す精神障害者を取り扱う法律はどうあるべきか？」 「心的能力の障害を持つ個人は、これらの行動に責任を負うべきなのか？」←こんな感じですよね？ 前からしか読めない理由は、単語を見た際に、その単語が、文章全体のどの位置に当てはまるか予測できないため＝単語が置かれた位置の文型を把握していないため、と推測しました。 確か通常文では、SVO SVO SVOCという文章の並びになっているものが、 疑問文だと変化するんですよね？どういう仕組みになっているんでしょうか？ なんだかすごく今更なところで疑問を抱えていて、疑問文を訳す時の独特の頭の動かし方があるのかなぁ、ともかんがえています。お力を貸してください。

以下の文で、なぜ "those"と"who"が使われているのかが理解できません。。 I don't want to be criticized by those who fail to act themselves. きっとwhoは関係代名詞なんだろうなという理解は出来るのですが、なぜthoseという単語が使われ、この位置にくるのか？そして仮にthose who fail to act themselvesを関係代名詞ではない元の文にするとすれば、どの様な文になるのか教えて頂けないでしょうか！(><) 宜しくお願い致します！m(__)m

センター試験の文法問題で、 Respectable activities are those approved of by society because they are considered to be fair and honest. という文の文頭の Respectable を選択させる問題がありましたが、この文の those が何を指すのかわかりません。 those who の who が省略されたものだと思ったのですが、違うような気がします。
