はっきりと断ったほうがいいと思います。遠まわしに話しても分かってもらえず、お互いにいやな思いをした経験があります。回答者NO.1さんの英文の中の "u"をyou, "tho"を"though"としっかりスペルアウトしたほうがよいのではないでしょうか。
