(1) thanks to (2) thank you (3) thanking ■答えと解説 (3) thanking It is always nice to send an e-mail after an interview, thanking interviewers for their time. 面接の後、時間を割いてもらったことを感謝するEメールを面接官に送るのはいいことです。 空欄の後ろには名詞interviewersがあるので、空欄には目的語をとることのできる語が入ることがわかります。ここでは文脈から、(3) thankingが正解となります。 ---------------------- 他の答えが文法的にありえないので(3)を選び正解したのですが、解説を見る限り私の解釈は間違っていたようです。カンマで区切られているのでthanking以下は名詞を省略した節だと思っていました。解説には「thankingが目的語」とありますが、この意味が良くわかりません。 英文法に詳しく上記問題をお分かりになる方がおりましたら解説いただけませんでしょうか。よろしくお願いします。

英文法について いつもお世話になっております。 英語を独学で勉強しているものです。 今回も、英文法について質問です。 1、Our cats are very cute. We all like them very much. という文章なのですが、ここでのallは副詞でしょうか？また副詞であれば、likeを修飾しているのでしょうか？それともWeでしょうか？ 2、What season do you like the best? という文章ですが、ここでのseasonがseasonsでないのは何故でしょうか？一番何の季節が好きか、I like summer the best.といった具合に答えが必然的ににひとつになるから、単数のままで間違いないのでしょうか？ 3、I got up early in this morning.は誤りでI got up early this morning.が正しいと認識しているのですが、その認識だと、My uncle lives in this city.は間違いで、My uncle lives this city. が正しいのでしょうか？ 4、穴埋め問題で、【Ａ】Isn't this question easy?【Ｂ】＿,it＿. It's not easy.というものがありました。この答えが、No,it isn't.になっていたのですが、解説を読んでもなぜかわかりません。Yes,it is.では文法的に間違いですか？ 以上４点になります。 わかにくい文章ですが、伝わっておりますでしょうか。 よろしければ回答お願いします。 最後まで目を通していただきありがとうございます。

前回この英文について教えてもらいました。 We give little thought to the machinery that generates the sunlight that makes life possible, to the gravity that glues to an Earth that would otherwise send us spinning off into space, or the atoms of which.... この文なんですが、訳は「私たちは、生命の営みを可能にしてくれる日光を生み出す仕組み、その存在がなければ、私たちを宇宙へと弾き飛ばしてしまう地球に私たちを引きつけておく重力、私たち人間を構成していて、そして私たち人間が根本的に依存している安定性を持った原子などに考えが及ばない。」にしました。 文の構造は分かっているつもりですが、 an Earth that would otherwise send us spinning off into space この文のsend以下の文法を教えてもらいたいです。sendをSVOCと考えるのか、それともSVOと捉えてspinning以下は分詞句の後置修飾なのか、もしくは分詞構文か、パニックになりました。 辞書には成句でspin offは他動詞で「～を（遠心力で）振り落とす」などがありますが、そう考えるとSVOCでは説明が付きません。 どなたか文法に詳しい方ご教授お願いします。

添付ファイル文章の文法解釈に関する 質問です。 “In the meantime, here, for the busy and active reader, we have attempted to *produce a daily devotional that is as functional and to the point as the philosophers behind it*.” produce a daily devotional that is as functional and to the point as the philosophers behind it の解釈が難しいです。 as…as構文の解釈について、 to the pointに対しても、最初のas が修飾しているという理解であっているのか分からないです。 また、以下のように訳したのですが、この解釈であっているのか分からないです。 解釈チェック宜しくお願いします。 「ところで、ここでは、忙しく活発な読者の方のために、我々は、祈祷書の背後にある哲学者達のように、的を射、かつ、実用的なデイリー祈祷書を作ることを試みた。」
