本質問では、「意味として通じるか」よりも、「文法的に正しいか」（理想的な英語か）という視点でご回答をお願いします。 （通じるかどうかだったら、例えば I , orange juice . も立派な英語ですものね。） 実は中学生に質問されたのですが、考えれば考えるほど自分の信じてきた文法に自信が持てなくなってきました。また、文法の解説書やサイト検索でも答えは見出せませんでした。 この部屋は寒い。 This room is cold . が文法的に正しいか、中学生には「ダメだ」と言っていいかを教えてください。私は、 It is cold in this room . や I feel cold in this room . の方が良解答だと思っています。 This table is cold . （物） なら使えるでしょうが、room という空間の場合は、Ｓ＝Ｃ を成立させられるのでしょうか。 This morning is cold . This summer is cold . は「ダメな英語」として教えるべきですよね？（というより、「天気の it を使いなさい」という教育的指導かも知れませんが。） ということは、 This bus is cold . （物ではなく空間） This elevator is cold .（物ではなく空間） This floor is cold . （物ではなく空間） という言い方も教育的に有りなのか無しなのか、混乱しています。私が海外旅行している時なら平気で使います。 中学生に教えるつもりで、（文法用語は使って良いので）正誤判定と理由を、よろしくお願いいたします。
