We find A B （A を C である B とみなしている） という構文。 A にあたるのが a cluster of shareholdings linking, for instance, Nestlé, Novartis, Roche Holding, UBS, Credit Suisse Group, ABB, Swiss Re, and Swatch. JPMorgan Chase & Co. B にあたるのが features as the most important controlling shareholder で、複数の会社名が列強されているので a feature ではなくて features という複数形になっています。ここでの feature は 「特徴的な存在」 のような意味なので、「たとえば代表例としていくつかの会社の名前を挙げるなら、次のような会社を最重要支配株主としています」 といった感じかと思います。

ある参考書で、 「Only in certain parts of Burma are tourists allowed to roam freely.」 「ビルマではある特定の地域でのみ、観光客が自由に歩き回ることが許されている。」 という英文と和訳を読んだのですが、この場合、are と tourists の順番が この順になっているのは、文法上、どういう考え方になっているのでしょうか？ また、この順番は逆であっても正しい文になりますでしょうか？

「ウォロン（地名）のパンダ保護区を守る」という内容の読解問題の中で、 An ecologist discovered through analyses of satellite photos that the Wolong forest has become markedly worse since the reserve was established. という文章があったのですが、「discovered through analyses of satellite photos」のあたりをどう取れば良いのか解りません。 analyseが名詞なら解るのですが、調べてみても他動詞の意味しかなく、前後にあるthroughとofとどう繋がっているのかが解りません。 解る方がいらっしゃいましたら教えてください。 よろしくお願いします。

All carpets must be removed and floors swept clean ready for the new tenant. という文があります。 floors の後ろにmust be が省略されていると考えられるので All carpets must be removed and floors (must be) swept clean ready for the new tenant. となり また、sweepには第５文型があるので受動態となりcleanまでは構文が取れます。 するとready for the new tenant は何であるのか分からなくなりました。 これまでの前提が違っているのでしょうか。それとも All carpets must be removed and floors (must be) swept clean (being) ready for the new tenant. の様に分詞構文と考えるべきなのでしょうか？ ご教授いただけたら幸いです。

こんにちは Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix [UK, adult版]p.128の上の方の文に関してです。 シリウスが家出した理由を述べているところです。 'Because I hated that whole lot of them: my parents, with their pure-blood mania, convinced that to be a Black made you practically royal ... my idiot brother, soft enough to believe them ... that's him.' この文の 'my parents convinced that to be a Black made you practically royal' の部分の意味がわかりません。 日本語では'ブラック家が事実上王族だと信じていた'となっているのですが、なぜそういう意味になるのかがわかりません。 そもそもこの文は「convince that節」なのでしょうか？ そうすると、 "to be a Black"「ブラック家であることが」'you'「あなたを」'practically royal'「事実上の王族に」'made'「させる。」 となるかとおもうのですが、どうもしっくりきません。 どう理解すればいいのでしょうか？ 教えてください。 よろしくお願いします。
