文句のつけようのない、原文に忠実な訳になっていると思います。 それはそうとして、原文の of inevitably の部分に違和感を覚えました。of の次には名詞が置かれるはずなのに、それが見当たりません。何かの語が抜け落ちているのか、あるいは誤植なのか ・・・ その部分を外して Notwithstanding the political inertia exhibited by neo-liberalism, recent years have witnessed an evaporation of the air once surrounding the broader advance of global market rule. としてみると、「新自由主義の出現によって、政治の無力さというものが露呈してしまっているにもかかわらず、世界市場におけるルールをより広範囲に拡充しようというかつての意気込みは消滅してしまっている」 などのようにも訳せるかも。

ご解答・ご指導どうも有難うございました。優れた意訳を頂戴したと思います。感謝申しあげます。ただ，前段の「新自由主義にもかかわらず」と結語の「市場ルール拡充の意気込みは消失した」が意味内容的に等値関係になければならないはずが，無力さ，という訳語のため，損なわれているような気がしました。
