＃１です。補足です。 ＞＞挿入型の分詞構文であるのは分かりましたが、as they didがあるのは、これはどういうことでしょうか？ 著者の好みでしょう。 ＞＞livingと分詞構文にしながらも、接続詞＋主語＋代動詞を敢えて入れることもあるということですか？ はい。 ＞＞下記でも良いですよね？ The Browns，living very close to the airport ，had to suffer a great deal from traffic noises. はい。 これは文法の問題ではなく、文体の問題です。「東の空が白みかけた」となぜ言わないで「夜の底が白くなった」というのか、というようなものです。

１。theyのあとがdidになっていますが、代動詞でしょうか？ はい、live の代動詞です。 ２。またasは何と訳しますか？ 原因を表す「から」とか「ので」でしょう。 ３。訳 ブラウン一家は、空港に非常に近く住んでいたので、（ジェット機の）騒音に非常に悩まされた。
