訳みてください
I tried to call you this morning but was engaged? (6.45) 今朝６時４５分？に電話したけど？？？ engagedは、雇うとか従事だと思いますがここでのengagedはどう訳したらいいですか？話中とか、出なかったね、という感じですか？ Saturday or Sunday is OK for me. 土曜か日曜はＯＫ（会えるよ） for meは、あなたの為に？ですか？あなたに？ですか？ present for youだと、あなたにとなると思うんですが・・ お願いします

現在、アメリカで大学生をやっているものです。 最初の文のengagedは形容詞で、「(人が)忙しい,(電話・回線が)話し中の」という意味があります。トイレが使用中って時にも使えますね。アメリカではbusyと同じかもしれません。よくPhone was busy.で、話し中だったという意味を表すので。あとbutの後には主語が省略されています。engagedを話し中と訳すなら、it(phone)、(人が)忙しいという意味で訳すならyouが省略されてるんだと思います。 ２文目は「土曜か日曜ならOK」ってことですね。for meは「私にとって」と訳すか、略してもいいですね。

engaged toneで「話中音」の意味があるようですので、「電話したんだけど、話中だったね」という感じでしょうか。 「for me」は文字通り「私にとって」という意味でよいのではないかと思います。 「土曜か日曜は、ワタシはＯＫです」って言い換えればすっきりしませんか？

つづけてすいません。ペンパルからの文ですが、今回分りづらくて、質問させてもらいました。私がなんとなく理解したのは、今週末はBBQしないつもりということしか分りません。なんとなくですが、不満がかかれているようなきがしてならないのですが・・・ I am not probably going to go to my friend BBQ on Sunday because everyone is bringing there friends with them. So I think I will probably do nothing this weekend. I'm glad to see that you work!! Even though you work long hours, it's still great!!! I would ask you to call me sometimes so I could here how sweet your voice is! But I understand if you are to busy to call me also.
