He says on a Facebook page that he asked Goto not to go to areas controlled by Islamic State. He says he warned him that even Muslims are not safe with the group, and that a non-Muslim would be killed or captured. 1。 下記に take one's life in one's hands は、「生命を危険にさらす、命懸けである」と訳してあります。 http://eow.alc.co.jp/search?q=take+in+hands 2。The man says Goto took his life into his own hands by seeking out Islamic State. 3。区切りを、he took his life より、広くとって he man took his life into his own hands までを一区切りにすれば、原意がはっきりすると思います。

take his life / となるのでなく、 take O into his own hands でひとまとまりです。 take O to ~で「O を~へ連れていく、持っていく」という形もありますし、 take O into consideration/account で「O を考慮に入れる」 という表現もあります。 take matters into one's own hands

  • a man who claims to be

An audio recording that accompanies the video plays the voice of a man who claims to be Goto. だと主張されている”のだからwho is claimed to be Gotoとなるべきだと思います。 Release of militant demanded in exchange for Goto A Japanese journalist apparently held captive by the Islamic State militant group has claimed he will be freed in exchange for an Iraqi woman sentenced to death by a Jordanian court. A video posted late Saturday, Japan time, shows a still image of hostage Kenji Goto holding a photo of another Japanese hostage Haruna Yukawa. An audio recording that accompanies the video plays the voice of a man who claims to be Goto. He says the militants killed Yukawa. He says the group is offering to free him in exchange for the release of a woman called Sajida al-Rishawi. Media and other sources in the Middle East say Rishawi was given a death sentence for her involvement in the 2005 bombings in the Jordanian capital of Amman. More than 50 people died. Jordanian authorities alleged the coordinated bomb attacks were the doing of the then leader of Al-Qaeda in Iraq, Abu al-Zarqawi. Al-Qaeda in Iraq is the predecessor of Islamic State, which established itself in Syria as civil war was raging across the country. The Islamic State last month captured a Jordanian air force pilot taking part in air raids against the group. Middle Eastern media say Jordanian officials may be considering the option of freeing Rishawi in exchange for the pilot.

  • on his own terms

My grandfather passed away three years ago. It was the first death in the family I’ve experienced. I was absolutely in bits when he died. He was very healthy all of my life until that point. He had an ongoing “flu” for a couple weeks that turned out to be cancer, and he passed within a month of letting all of the immediate family know about the diagnosis. He did not opt for treatment that would have lengthened his life, which I absolutely am grateful for. He passed on his own terms in his home. He passed on his own terms「自分が思うがままに死んだ」?

A spokesperson for Islamic State has criticized Japan, calling Japanese people infidels who fight the militant group. A spokesperson for Islamic State has criticized Japan, calling Japanese people infidels who fight us, who A spokesman for Islamic State says it will...

Olson noted that plunging oil prices are certain to have taken a toll on the coffers of Islamic State, which control of wells in Syria and northern Iraq and sells it on the black market in Turkey and other places. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/01/20/200m-ransom-demand-sign-isis-financial-desperation-say-experts/

He is an interesting man, but there has been obscurity and misery in his life. He has faced some long and hard past ordeal, or unfavorable circumstances or darkness of spirit has shadowed him and dogged his footsteps. He is stalwart and hardened by the struggle, and a little fatalistic and guided often on his course by his instincts as to what will bring him luck and what wont. He knows what direction he wants to follow in life and struggles against adversities in a dignified way. But he is an unsettled man with a changing unreliable life and a restless determination to rise about him. One who is never at rest or at peace but always on the move. He has a receptive mind, a wild energy and life of much turmoil and contradiction. An ambitious man, but with many impractical dreams, who fools himself into thinking he is capable of achieving more than he can, and so no matter how hard he tries, how successful he is. his goals remain always distant, out of reach or just beyond his capability. He is one of life's takers, not one of life's givers. He takes what's given for granted and exploits it in any way he can, to get further gains. To heap up favours or wealth, a grasping nature, that when given something, extracts more, but gives little or nothing back. He ceases opportunities where he can. Lives by his wits exploits his own reserves, but fails to learn from his bad luck and failures.

I like this story because there are many points, which makes me thinking about what human-being happiness is many times. Even though, Robert has a physical disability, he enjoys his life more than me. He did not imply negative contents of his physical disability. On the contrary, he has great pride in himself. For example, when the wife offered him to move his staff to his room, he said, “it can go up when I go up”. He declined her gentle offer because he wanted to do whatever he could do it by himself because of his pride. Also, he alway tries enjoying his life. When the husband offers blind man to smoke together, he accepts that offer, and he said, “There is a first time for everything”. Although it was a first time to smoke, He didn't to hesitate to do it. He likes doing new challenge, which is worth doing. That is why he enjoys his life.
