いわゆるクジラ構文 no more A than B ＝ not A any more than B B でないのと同様に，A でないで，2 の any more 魚が鳥でないのと同様に，コウモリも鳥でない。 as ～ as S can で「できるだけ」とにかく，同じくらいという as as なわけですが， many については as many 複数 as が基本形。で，4 の problems as

旺文社の基礎英文問題精講の中に以下の２つの例文と訳が掲載されてます。１　I want nothing more than momey. 　　何よりもお金が欲しい 2　I want nothing less than money. 　　金なんか全然ほしくない一般に参考書などでは no more than A ＝ only A　　　　　　　　わずかA no less than A ＝ as many(much) as A 　Aも(たくさん) と書かれています。 nothingをno+thingと考えると 1の文については「私が欲しい物はお金だけ」となり同じ意味になります。 2の文について「私は金もたくさん欲しい」となり意味的におかしいし、訳とも合いません。更にDUOという単語帳のイディオムの中に nothing less than~ 　＝　（まさに）～そのもの　〈形容詞〉と掲載されています。これを２の文に適用すると「私が欲しいのはまさに金そのもの」となり意味が真逆になります。何らかの前提が間違っているのでしょうが、これらの矛盾と思われる事をどのように解決したら良いかご教授下さい。宜しくお願いします。

お世話になります。英語を数年勉強しておりますが、いまだにnoとnotの違いがわかりません。例えば、 I have no money. と I don't have money. の違いがわかりません。その他、 No music, no life. とは言うものの、 Not music, not life. といえない理由もわかりません。更には比較が組み合わさると訳が解りません。。。 A whale is no more a fish than a horse is. これは、noがmoreを「ゼロの程度だけ」という意味で修飾しているのは解るのですが A whale is not more a fish than a horse is. という文章は見たことがないです（単に勉強不足？）。後者はどんな訳になるのでしょうか？比較の延長線上かもしれませんが、 no more than = only となる文法的理由もわかりません。同様に、 no less than = as much/many as もなぜなんでしょうか？大学受験は暗記でクリアできましたが。。。わからないことだらけで、大変恥ずかしいですが、noとnotのニュアンスや、文法的な違いを教えていただけると幸いです。どうぞ、よろしくお願いします。

can't be any worse thanの意味こんにちは。比較の文を習ったのですが、今いち使い方、意味がわかりません。 can't be any worse than The food is Moscow can't be any worse than England. anything like as=much less I used to do a lot more overtime so actually that isn't anything like as much. as good as=a bit more than It's easily as good as your last job and you have plently of experience in planning and organising. この３つの使いかたと訳が混乱してしまってイマイチわからないので説明をお願いします＞＜
