一言だけ，more ～という比較級の否定で「あまり～ない」とはならない」 あとの「より密接に関わりあったことがなかったからである」はまだまし。 とにかく，正しくはこの表現は「これまでは，（今より）重要であったことはない」 「今は，これまでないほど重要」 後半も 「今は，これまでないほど密接に結びついている」 ただ，今といっても「アメリカの将来」には違いない。 アメリカの将来は，これまでないくらい，今が最も密接にアジア太平洋と結びついている。 同じ構造なのに，意味が逆になるはずがない。 「あまり重要でなかった」 これまでは。 今は最高に重要 というつもりならそれで合っていますが。 "has never been more" "has never been better" これで検索してみればどういう表現がわかると思います。
