どうでしょうか，問題点は has naver been more ～という意味合いと the future です。 これを分けてみていきます。 this project has never been more consequential (than this project is consequential now) これは今の重要性よりも，これまでより重要であったことはない。 すなわち，このプロジェクトは今がこれまででないくらい重要だ， ということです。 the United States has never been more closely linked to the ～ order emerging in the Asia-Pacific (than the United States is closely linked to ～ now) とりあえず，future を無視しましょうか。 この比較も今，密接であるより，今までより密接であることはない。 すなわち，アメリカは今がこれまでないくらい，密接に～と結び付いている。 ただ，ここで「アメリカ」そのものでなく，「アメリカの将来」になっているだけです。 「アメリカの将来」というのはいつの時にもあると申し上げました。 そのときどき，今なら今，密接だ，というのでなく，将来のアメリカは密接だ。 今なら現在形， 「過去に，アメリカの将来は密接だった」なら過去形。 「今まで」の話をしているなら現在完了です。 ここで has never been more ～となることにより， 「今，将来のアメリカは，今までないくらい，～と密接に結びついている」 結局，the future of the United States というのは， 今現在からみたアメリカの将来とは限らず， そのときどきにおける「アメリカの将来」です。 the future という単語，存在は時制とは別に存在します。

100年前に語られた将来、50年前に語られた将来、10年前に語られた将来よりも、過去のどの時点で語られた将来よりも今現在語られる将来こそが一番・・・ということですか。 こういう表現は会話でもよく使うものなのでしょうか？
