英文の構造が分かりません
いつもお世話になります。 Japan times の下記の英文で構造が分からないところがあります。 That's been the appraisal for a while now, born of numbers showing that fewer than one in 10 teens were using Twitter early on. この文章の、showing ～ 10 teens がborn of numbersを修飾していると思っているのですが、 that fewer はどういう働きをしてるのでしょうか？thatの後にすぐfewerってできるのですか？？

-er than ～という比較級は普通はいわゆる比較構文というものを構成します。 There are fewer people than sheep in New Zealand. 「ニュージーランドで羊の数より人間の方が少ない」 しかし，そういう比較構文・比較構造にならない，熟語としての表現があります。 more than ～ fewer than ～ less than ～ no more than ～ no less than ～ nothing less than ～ たとえば more than ～「～以上（厳密には～より上）」というのは後の数詞にのみかかります。 He has more than three cars. 「彼は３台より多くの車を持っている」 こういうのは全体として比較級の形になっているわけでなく， He has three cars. の three が more than three となっているだけ。 http://okwave.jp/qa/q6867403.html 今回も fewer than というのは fewer than one in 10 teens で 「10代（厳密には13～19）の子の10人に1人未満」となるだけで， S were using Twitter early on. という文全体は比較構文ではありません。 show that SV という普通の that 節です。 「10代の10人に1人未満（割合なので，100人のうち，5, 6 人ということでしょう） が早い時期にツイッターを使っていたということを示す」

10代の人の10分の１以下しか前もってツイッターを使っていなかったという数字に基づいていたのだから、しばらくはそういう評価だった。 fewer than in one in 10 teensで10代の1/10以下です。that以下全部が名詞節でshowingの目的語です。 前後の文脈が不明なので文全体の意味はよく解りませんが、10代のツイッター利用率が過小評価されていたので、何かも間違って評価されたという話のように推測します。
