どうしてもわかりません

オペレーターによって使用されているエリアは幅が30インチで、どのオペレーターであっても画面や(電源の?)切断ハンドルを操作できるよう、エリアの中心に置かれている。切断ハンドルは壁際に積み上げられた機材の入った戸棚よりも、十分に高い位置に取り付けてあり、床面の装置からも離すため、床から6フィートの高さがある。 ※なるべく直訳するようにしました。必要によって同じ語を繰り返しています。 ※「切断」の意味が確定できませんでした。 ※「戸棚」というのは、電源スイッチなどのある、金属製の扉のついた、配電盤などのように思います。 ※配電盤からハンドルまでの「十分な高さ」は、「床からハンドルまで6フィート」と同じことを言っています。or は別の言葉で説明を繰り返す時に使います。

誰が書いた英語かは知りませんが、ひどい英語です。over the entire height or up to 6 ft のかかる動詞がないからだれも正確に訳せないのです。

素人なのでよくは分かりませんが、たとえば オペレーターによって使用されているエリアは30インチ幅で、真ん中に制御盤、モニター、もしくは電源回路切断装置が置かれて、壁掛け式の装置あるいは床にじかに置いた装置を覆うために6フィートの高さくらいの壁に囲まれるだろう。 みたいな感じではどうでしょうか。
