The company has reported difficulty finding people willing to take positions that require them to sell items door-to-door.

→人々を見つける(困難さ) (2)willing to take positions は、前の people を修飾する分詞。 →そのポジションに喜んでつく(人々) (3)that require them to sell items door-to-door.

The company(S) has reported(V) difficulty(O) このあと: in finding people (who are) willing to .....

Incidentally, the best way to find out is to ask customers, not by questionnaires but by, again, sitting down with them and finding out. The most successful retailer Iknow in the world is not one of the big retail chains. It is somebody in Ireland, a small country about the size of Slovenia. This particular company is next door to Great Britain with its very powerful supermarkets and all of them are also in Ireland; and yet this little company has maybe 60% of the sandwich market. What do they do? Well, the answer is that the boss spends two days each week in one of his stores serving customers, from the meat counter to the check-out counter, to being the one who puts stuff into bags and carries it out to the shoppers’ And he knows what the customers pay for. Let me say this may all sound very simple to you. It is not. It is infinitely more important than any other management tool.

It is hard to imagine how customers who rush after trends, or the stores that serve them, will respond to the report’s suggestions: that people lease clothes and return them at the end of a month or a season, so the garments can be lent again to someone else — like library books — and that they buy more expensive and durable clothing that can be worn for years. Perhups surprisingly , the report highlights the benefits of synthetic fabrics they require less hot water to wash and less ironing. It suggests that consumers air-dry clothes and throw away their tumble dryers, which require huge amounts of energy.

Each team brought in a few hundred dollars. However, the team that generated the greatest profit looked at the resources through a completely different lens and made 650 dollats. These students determined that the most valuable asset was neither the five dollars nor the two hours. Instead, their insight was that their most precious resource was their three-minute presentation time on Monday. They decided to sell it to a company that wanted to recruit the students in the class. The team created a three-minute "commercial" for that company and showed it to the students during the class. This was brilliant. They recognized that they had a a fabulously valuable asset-that others didn't even notice-just waiting to be uncovered. Were all teams successful? Unfortunately,no. One team actually lost money when the students purchased umbrellas to sell in San Francisco on a rainy day, only to have the weather clear up shortly after they launched their effort. And yes, one team ran a car wash, and another started a lemonade stand, but their retuens were much lower than average.
