"I'll be around"の意味がわかってることが前提だと思ったら、回答者とのやり取りを見てたらそうでもないらしいね。 文章を直訳すれば「悪いけど、いつそばにいるかわからない。じゃあね」となるけど、 意味としては「悪いけど、いつ会えるかわからない。じゃあね」という感じ。 まあ、これを「もう会うつもりはない」ととるか、単に「予定が立たない」ととるかは第三者にはわからない。 オレだったら会うつもりがない場合は「会いたくない」とは書かず、「忙しくて予定が立たない」とするし、会いたいけど予定が立たないなら、予定が空いたら連絡するとか、いつごろなら予定がわかるとか書く。

こんにちは。 『around』とは実に曖昧模糊とした表現。 辞書で調べると、 a. To or among various places; here and there: wander around. b. To a specific place: Come around again sometime. 2．In or near one's current location: waited around for the next flight きわめて漠然としていますが、『そちらへ』の意味ではないでしょうか？ それならあなたからは『そうね、近くまで来たら寄ってね』で良いんじゃないでしょうか。 諦める必要なんかないと思います。 自信持って！ 男女の仲は当事者にしかわかりません。 外野にいる我々はただ応援するだけ。

昨日頭が混乱して辞書とコンピュータにかじりついていました。 IXTYSさんの文章、かなり参考になります。 aroundでこんなに混乱するとは思いもしませんでした。 現在、彼は海外に居るので戻ってくるのはわからないのでしょうね。 ありがとうございました。

まずWが小文字であるはずです。それに「I'm sorry but when I'll be around.」ではなく「I'm sorry but I don't know When I'll be around.」ですよね。それを前提に言いますと、「先の予定は立てられないので、会う約束はできない」と言っているわけです。これを別れと解釈するか否かは人それぞれですし、そもそも質問者さんとこの人とのこれまでの関係がわからないので、推測すらできないわけです。語学や文化の問題ではありません。例えば映画『マイレージ、マイライフ』（Up In The Air）の主人公みたいな人で、プレイベートの約束は基本的に誰ともしたくないのかもしれません。混乱するお気持ちはお察ししますが、この文面からは、額面通りの意味しかわかりようがないのです。

相手が、次の予定が立たないけどまた会いたいと思っているなら、「会えるようになったら連絡する」ぐらいのことは書くだろう。 それがないのはほぼ脈がないってことだろうね。 返信の内容が書かれているだけならそっけないし。

こんにちは。英語圏在住です。 もし私だったら、これは別れというか（付き合ってたんですか？）「（とりあえず今は）君とは考えられない（でも友達として付き合うのは構わない）」と取ります。でも希望を捨てないで、「そっか。じゃぁ、時間が出来たら連絡してね！いつでもウェルカムだよ！」って返信します。 でも気になるのは、もし相手の方も「また会いたい」と思っていたら、「その日はダメだけど○日は大丈夫だよ」と提案してくると思うんですが、それがないならちょっと期待薄かな？

ありがとうございます。 直訳していただいたことにちょっと今、頭が混乱しています。 要するに君とは考えられない、ということなんですね？ 何度もすみません。 海外にも仕事で行く人なのでI'm sorry but when I'll be aroundはいつそばに居るのがわからないと取ったんですが。 なんだか混乱しています。

１０か月付き合ってる外国人の彼がいましたが 私たちはあまりあったりしませんでしたし 私の仕事が忙しく全然普通のカップルとはちがいました もちろん体の関係もありません その彼から 別れのメールがきました ただしく訳していただきたいのとどんな感じでいっているのかしりたいのですが、 I'm sorry I like you but I can't be with you anymore.It was nice to be with you,but I have to go now. gomen nasai. なぜ？とかえしたら、 I can't be with you anymore,because we don't see each other enough. と返ってきました どう返事をかえしたらいいのかもわかりません きっと私が大きな原因はあるとおもいます。なぜなら彼は私によくメールをしてくれたり家族を紹介したりしてくれましたが、私はメールに返事をしないことも最近多くありました 正月会う約束をしていて そのときにプレゼントのお返しをしようと思っていて、その買い物と彼と会う日にちと仕事の休みなどを考えていたら、なんと返事をしていいかわからなくなってしまったのです… 私の気持ちとしては 仕方ないと思っています 彼に悪い気持ちもあります この気持ちを どう英語にしたらいいでしょうか お願いします
