この英文がわからないのですが。

Sounds like something　out of a fairy story! 「おとぎ話でもあるまいし。」 この英文の直訳がわからないので、教えてください。（特に、「something out of」の訳し方がわかりません。）

本来は、【It sounds like something out of a fairy story.】となります。 この文頭のit は 会話ではほとんど省略されます。【feel, seem, なども同様】 something は、ただ漠然と『もの』をさしています。 ですから、直訳とすれば、【おとぎ話から飛び出した物のように聞こえる。】となり、 【おとぎ話でもあるまいし。】という意訳になるわけです。

something はsome storyを抽象的に言い換えたみたいなかんじです。 out of～は～からなので、 out of a fairy storyは おとぎ話のなかに出てくる色々な内容のなかから っていう感じになると思います。 どうかなぁ直訳すると、、、 それっておとぎ話の中の一節みたいだね
