coldとcoolの使い方の違いってありますか？

なにやらサリバン先生とヘレン・ケラーみたいな… 水＝液体ですからcoolは普通使わないでしょうね。coolの「かっこいい」という意味でならOKでしょうが、SFになっちゃいますかね。

国語の疑問ですが、英語の観点からご質問いたします。 常識すぎることですが、「暑い」の反意語は「寒い」ですよね。そして、「暖かい」の反意語は「涼しい」ですよね。 それから、「熱い」の反意語は「冷たい」ですよね。それでは「温かい」の反意語は何になるんでしょうか？ 例えば、次の英文のcool waterはどう訳しますか？ I washed my hand with cool water. 「冷たい水」だと、cold waterのことになっちゃいますよね？

友人が"Only"について教えてくれているようなのですが、詳しく知りたいので力を貸して頂けますでしょうか。よろしくお願いします。 "Only" refers to it being something and nothing else. For example if I said "I only eat vegetables." That would mean that I eat vegetables and not meat, chicken, fish etc. In the context I used it in ("It's only cold in the mornings,") it would mean that it is cold in the morning, but it is not cold during the rest of the day. In a different context it could mean that it is always cold never hot, warm or cool in the morning. A clearer way to say what I meant that would have my intended meaning regardless of context would be "It is cold in the mornings only."

全く解らなくて困ってます。どなたかお力を貸して下さい。 What a sympathetic stranger!Shortly after I came to Japan, I caught a cold.Being sick made me also feel a little homesick and I snuffled sadly as I made my way down the stairs and out of a station near my apartment.Then I saw a hand push some tissues at me. Why,how very nice of a perfect stranger to understand just what I needed! I lifted my eyes to smile at the kind person...and realized that everyone was getting tissues,not just me.What was going on? As I found out,advertising almost anything throuh free tissues is common in Japan.Icaught many colds my first year and with my cold that day,and the cold after that,and the cold after that,I was quite happy with all the tissues I received for free.

ご質問させて頂きます。 コーヒーを頼む時に、私はコーヒーが冷たいのが良いというのを英訳すると 「I like my coffee cold.」で合っていますか？ 通常、I would like cold coffee.とかの表現の方がわかり易い気がしますが、英語の作文していると上記のような表現がありました。文法的にあってますか？ 英語は得意ではないので、分かる方宜しくお願いします。
