またおじゃまします。ちょうどいい例を見つけました。 子供向けの本（Two of a Kind）からですが、 "Turning around, she saw Mrs.Baker in the doorway, holding two jackets." の文で、turning aroundしたのはshe（＝Ashley）で、holding two jacketsしているのはMrs.Bakerです。 この後Mary-Kateが（Ashleyの双子の姉妹）「刑務所長のお出ましだわ」とささやいた後に、 「寒いからジャケットを着なさい」とMrs.Bakerの言葉が続きます。 Ashleyたちはいやがっているので、ジャケットを持ってきたのは Mrs.Bakerとはっきり分かります。 これはshe saw (that)Mrs.Baker..., holding...という構造で、that節の後の 分詞の主語がthat節内の主語と一致している例ですね。

he proved to be very honest. 彼がとても正直だというのがわかった。 という英文ですが、この分の主語は he ですが、意味上の主語は iで あるはずです。 正直だとわかったのが he ではなく i だからです。 しかしなぜそれなら i found that he was very honest. という文にしないのですか？ 何と呼ばれる用法ですか？
