geek＝オタク、という訳が前提として話します。 まず、pantheonという言葉は、英和辞書だと、「殿堂、万神殿」、という訳語だそうですが、英英辞書だと、「有名人の集まり、集団」という感 じの意味にもなるそうです。 よって 「オタクの集団、集まり」→「オタクの世界」と翻訳して 「オタク世界の中で特別な地位を占めた」（特別な地位になった） という感じの意味になるでしょうか。
