”できるでけ行間を詰めてページ数を減らしてください” "Please reduce the total number of pages as to close space between the lines"でよいでしょうか。 ”次のページに移動してください” "Please forward this to the next page (following page)"でいいでしょうか。 ”校正中のファイル”を英語で表現すると Ongoing proof というのはおかしいでしょうか 以上、お願い申し上げます。

校正ならば、Please なんてつけませんが。。。 ”できるでけ行間を詰めてページ数を減らしてください” Decrease leading, to reduce the pages. ”次のページに移動してください” (文章についてなら）New page (from here). (図表なら) Put it （として図表に矢印をするか、 Figure XXとかTable XXと具体的に指示して） to the next page. ”校正中のファイル” The file under proofreading

英会話初級で「近い」という意味の前置詞をたくさん習いました （１）１番 近い距離 ＝ ～の隣 next to または beside （２） それよりもう少し離れていたら ＝ ～の（すぐ）そば by （３） もうちょっとまた離れて ＝ ～の近く near または close to または around Longman 英英辞典では： beside、next to は very close to、with nothing in between by は beside or near near、close to は short distance で確かにそんな雰囲気ですが、 near、close to を研究社 英和中辞典で調べると、近く、「接して」 と説明されています 「接して」というのは beside、next to であって、near の訳としては 変だと思い、レッスンでアメリカ人の若い女の先生に聞いたら near、close to が「接して」というのは間違いと言ってました でも、小さな英会話学校で native English speaker はこの先生１人で 確認できません。研究社 英和中辞典の間違いと納得して良いですか？
