(1)to wouldについて このようにtoの後ろに助動詞という言い方は可能なのでしょうか？ 副詞ならわかるのですが助動詞は初めて見ました。 多分意味は「恐怖を終わらせるだろうキバキ大統領と反対派リーダーの間の…」という感じで確定していない出来事だから使われているのだと思いますがこういう言い方は可能なのでしょうか？ Protesters say they will switch tactics and launch economic boycotts against at large companies such as Equity Bank and City Hoppa transport owned by Mr. Kibaki's supporters. (2)againstの後ろの省略について 多分againstの後ろにはMr. Kibakiのようなものが省略されているのだと思いますがagainstまで書いているのならMr. Kibakiもあっていいような気がします。 それでもこの場合は省略が普通なのでしょうか？省略されていないと変なのでしょうか？ お願いします。。。

an agreement that would end the violence. の誤植だと思います。 launch economic boycotts at large companies launch A at BでBにAをする。 launch economic boycotts at large companies launch economic boycotts against large companies を同時に表現しているようです。

いずれの場合も誤植と思われます。意味が通じないときは誤植を疑うことも必要かと思います。ニュースの記事でも誤植はあります。 1) to → that 2) against at のatは不要。 against の後には何も省略されていません。launch economic boycotts against large companies such as ... と続き、～に対して経済的なボイコット(不買運動)を打ち出す、の意味です。

回答ありがとうございました to は誤植なんですね。。。 ボイコットって不買運動なんですね。。それならagainst Mr. Kibakiというよりそのままagainst large companies such …で問題ないですね。「大きな会社でキバキ大統領に対するボイコット」かと思ったのですが単に「大きな会社に対するボイコット」なのですね。 ありがとうございました。

But many Okinawans and activists also oppose the planned new base, which would be built on reclaimed land, and would include two runways protesters say are likely to affect a marine habitat that is home to corals and an endangered sea mammal, the dugong. 意味は大体わかるのですが文法的に理解が出来ない点が1つあります。 include two runways protesters say are の部分ですが、これは、 two runways which protesters say という形で「抗議者たちが言及する二つの滑走路」ということでしょうか？ The leaders wrapped up the meeting with a "Tokyo declaration"that commits Japan to helping out with 63projects in the region...... この後続きますが、ここまでで意味がいまひとつ理解できず、直訳すると、「首脳陣はミーティングを『東京の宣言』で締めくくった。」それ以降のcommit と help out とうまくつながらないというか・・・。 Thailand, Vietnam, Laos,Cambodia and Myanmar joined host Japan atthe two-day meeting in Tokyo. これに関しては、joinedとhostがつながっているのが理解できないというか、joinedは分詞でしょうか？hostが動詞。それともjoinedは普通に過去形の動詞で、hostがjapanを修飾する形容詞ということでしょうか？hostを調べても形容詞はないですが・・・。 以上3点ですが、よろしくお願いいたします。

回答ありがとうございました。 toは誤植なのですね。。。 ２つ目の質問はもう一人の回答者様の回答の通りatが不要なのだと思います。 しかし私もこの記事を書いた記者は launch economic boycotts at large companies launch economic boycotts against large companies の二つを表そうとしていたようにも感じます。 多分文法的にもatがない、という方が正しいのかもしれませんが私はこの二つを同時に表す表現方法という風に感じておきます ありがとうございました。
