e-メールの原稿、添削してください
外国人の先生に、大阪空港から京都駅まで来る方法をきかれました。電車はややこしいので、バスに乗ってもらうよう説明を作ったのですが、内容に自信がないので、変な表現があれば指摘していただけると嬉しいです。もうひとつ、メールの連絡が遅くなったときお詫びの文言を書きたければ、どう表現したらよいのか教えてください。 I inform you of a method of access from Osaka Airport to Kyoto Station. Please take "to Kyoto" from the fourth platform (north terminal) or from the 14th platform (south terminal). There is a ticket vendor close to a platform. It takes around 55 minutes from Osaka Airport to Kyoto Station. From 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., it travels every 20 minutes. As for the fare, adult 1,280 yen, an infant are the half price. こんにちは。 ルートの説明は箇条書きがわかりやすいかなぁと思いますが、いかがでしょうか？ inform you of a method of ここですが、不自然な気がします。 Here is how to access from Osaka Airport(関空ではないのですか？なるべく正確な名称で書いてあげた方がよいですよ)to Kyoto Station. take a train "for Kyoto" at the platform 4 (north terminal) or at the platform 14 (south terminal) 4番目のホームよりもしっかりと番号で書いた方がよいと思います。 京都行きの電車だったら、take a trainにしましょう。 buy a ticket at vending machine close to the platform チケットは買うんですよね？ It takes about 55 minutes from Osaka Airport to Kyoto Station. *From 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the train departs every 20 minutes. *Ticket costs 1,280 yen for an adult, 640 yen for an infant. ２０分ごとに電車が出ているときはこの表現がよいと思います。 値段も箇条書きで、またhalfとするより値段を書いた方が良いかと。 If you need a map of a bus terminal, please refer to the following page (Japanese). とかでいかがでしょうか？ My apologies for the late reply. などと言いますが、もうちょっとフレンドリーにする場合は、 I'm so sorry for replying you this late. #3 でうまく丁寧に（翻訳関係の方でしょうか？）書いておられますし、質問者ご自身の文章でも基本的にいいたいことは伝わると思いますが、英語らしさを目指すとすると、日本語を変えていったらいいと思います。 ＃ 主体をはっきり意識する（この場合はその先生です）、 ＃ 外国語なので贅沢は考えずに言いたいことのみに絞る、 ＃ いいたいことを一番先頭に持ってきて、単刀直入に表現する、 ＃ 普通、一般の私達が英語で目指すのは、外交文書の翻訳でもなく、文芸作品の翻訳でもないので、微妙な言い回しや一語一句にとらわれない。 で、たぶん未開の地から来る人ではないので、分かりきったことは極力省きます。お知らせしますだとか、切符買うとか、売り場は前だとか。少しは丁寧さを出したければ、please でもつけておけば十分だと思います。 Please take the limousine bus for Kyoto Station whenafter you arrive at Itami Airport. You will be able to catch the bus at the bus stop #4 (north terminal) or #14 (south terminal) every 20 minutes from 8:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. It takes about an hour to Kyoto, and costs 1,280 yen for an adult. 文章でナビされると日本語でもわからないかも・・・。 １．大阪空港から京都駅へはバスで移動してください。 ２．バス停はどこそこです。 ３．「京都行き」のバスに乗ってください。 ４．チケットは乗車前に券売機で購入してください。 ５．バス料金は１２８０円です。 ６．バスは昼間の時間帯は二十分おきです。 ７．バス停の地図はここを参照してください。 といった簡潔なものにしてはどうでしょうか?
こちらは、バスに乗ってもらう指示ですよね？ まず最初に“バスに乗ってください”とはっきり書いたほうが良いと思いますよ♪ 私の貧弱な英語力のせいかもしれませんが、Platform,Stationと来たので“え？電車だっけ？”と思ってしまいました。 ２文目のPlease takeの後に、a busを入れれば良いかと思います。 英文はこれで大丈夫だと思います♪

あなたは、どの程度の英語力があるのかも分からない人が添削した英文を先生に出すつもりなのでしょうか？ その人が大切な人なのであれば、失礼のないような文章を送る必要があり、それにはやはりそういった有料の翻訳サービスを利用するほうが確実なのではないでしょうか？

まったくおっしゃる通りなのですが、ボランティアでやっていることなので、お金をかけるのもどうかと思い質問させていただきました。伝わればいいかな、ぐらいに考えていたので、半分は英作文の勉強のつもりで質問していました。

時間を表す時のtakeの使いかたついて混乱しています。例えば“その駅に行くには３０分かかる”という時、It takes thirty minutes to get to the station, あるいは The station takes thiry minutes to get to. と２通り言えると思うのですが、 では She takes a lot of time to get dressed. はどのような構文になるのでしょうか？ It takes a lot of time to get her dressed. だと“誰かが着替えさすのに”時間がかかるということですよね？ 例えば“私は、朝仕事に行く準備をするの時間がかかる”は I take a lot of time to get ready for work in the morning. でいいでしょうか？ もしOKとしたら、これは It takes me a lot of time to get ready for work in the morning. と言えますか？何か違和感があような・・ 混乱してきました・・
