ビジネス英語の専門家ではありませんが、 丁寧な順番は、 would you 〔please〕 wait for one moment （おおげさ？） ＞ would you wait for one minute ＞ please wait for a minute ＞ Half a moment. / Just a moment. / One moment. / Wait a moment. 辞書によると、「ちょっと待ってください.」という感じで Wait [Just] a minute. 「ちょっと待って.」という感じ だと思います。 one minuteは文字通り一分と受け取られないですよね（笑） a minuteは違うのでしょうか？ one moment と言ってもいいと思います。 『いつもおせわになっています（と顧客にいうときは？常連さんにたいしてなど』という日本語的な発想は英語圏でありません。会ったときは、普通にHello, How are you ? でいいのでは？ （職種によって違うかも知れないので、同僚や相手の言い回しに合わせてみては） nice to meet you もいいと思いますが、I'm glad meet youはより丁寧ですね。 『～ということは』という表現方法は日本語的な発想ですね。 シンプルに「もし彼が来たら、私たちはもう帰ってもいいですか。」と if～ で考えてはいかがですか？ 手紙を書くときはnice to meet youは使いませんね。会話だけです。 イギリス英語とアメリカ英語は違いますし、表現方法や言い回しも違いはありますが、あまり気にするとはゃべれなくなります。米語はフレンドリーだけど、英語は気取っている、慇懃無礼な感じもありますよね。もってまわった言い回しというんでしょうか。 会社によっても、丁寧にしなければいけない職場とか、相手によってどの程度崩して良いのか違いがあると思いますけど、周りに合わせれば大丈夫でしょう。 英語が不得手な人には、相手も寛容に接してくれますよ。まずは気楽にね。 詳しくは専門家にお譲りしますー

A few months ago my girlfriend and I agreed to meet her parents for the holidays. But since then I’ve developed doubts about the relationship. (She’s bossy, domineering, and I am happier on days when she doesn’t call. Nice one minute, a controlling terror the next.)
