この文章中のothersの後ろのtoの意味について
Most people trying to win others to their way of thinking do too much talking. 他人を自分の考え方に従わせようとする人の大半は、あまりにしゃべりすぎる。 win over A to B で「AをBに(説得して)引き入れる」となるみたいです。 overがありませんがこの用法で合っていますか？ また、間違っているならばこのtoはどういった意味で使われているのですか？

現在高校３年生で、来年受験を控えている者です Teachers can end up afraid not to be in control of the answer,afraid of losing their authority over the class 教師は、ついには答えを把握していないことではなく、教室における自分の権威を失うことを恐れるようになる可能性がある ここでのafraidの用法なのですが、これは not A,Bという構造ですよね？ 訳をみればそう分かったのですが、訳を見る前はnot to be in control of the answerをafraid＋lose their authority over the classをafraidだと解釈していました。確かにこの場合は、２つのafraidしているものをandで繋ぐことで表現されますが、わざわざafraidを２つかくことで強調しているのかと思ってしまいました この解釈がありえないとすれば、afraid not to be～「～でないことを恐れる」という用法は使わず、全てnot afraid to be～という用法を用いるということになるのでしょうか それならば「afraid not to be」という用法はないからnot A,Bという構造だということが分かる というだけで納得できますが、後のカンマやbutを見るまでは解釈が確定しないということになると、はっきりとした理解が必要になると思いましたので質問しました

When it came to giving money, the CAF survey found that over the past month, 33% of people had donated money. Over the years, the United States has been one of the most generous countries worldwide. Each year, people, companies, and organizations in the United States donate over $300 billion. Actually, 75% of this amount, or over $225 billion, comes from people. Half of that is donated each year by average people and families and half is donated by richer people. Recently, the very rich have been challenged to give even more by the Giving Pledge A group of very wealthy people like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates started this idea. They want others to promise to donate most of their wealth now or at some point in the future. So far, over fifty billionaires around the world have joined Buffet and Gates in the Giving Pledge.

get to do ～するようになる のto doは何用法になりますか。 ある本でgetは他動詞で名詞的用法、とあったのですが この意味のgetは自動詞ではないのですか。 それと What is the most important thing to get along well with people ? のto get along は形容詞用法だと思うのですが、副詞的用法との解説がありました。 What is the most important thing in order to get along well with people? ということなだとの補足もありましたが。。。

I had way too much to drink. アメリカのドラマを見ていたら、「きのうは飲みすぎちゃった。」という訳で、“I had way too much to drink" といっていました。 わたしにはこの英訳は思いつきそうもありません。 “I drank too much yesterday" と訳すでしょう。 ところで、 “I had way too much to drink." この文章を文法的に解析するとどうなるのでしょうか。 to drink の部分がわかりません。 I have a lot of homework to do. この to do と同じでしょうか。 これは不定詞の形容詞的用法のところに載っている例文です。 この場合はto do がhomework を修飾していると思います。 でも、 上の文章には修飾する名詞がないです。 名詞は省略されていると考えたらいいのでしょうか。 それにしても、不定詞は未来のこと、これから先のことをあらわしているようなイメージがあり、なんだかしっくりきません。 どなたか おしえてください。

try to do のtryの役割で混乱する問題が ありました。過去のQ&Aや文法書を確認したのですが いまいちピンとくるものがなかったので、質問させて ください。 (その問題) Now people in the city are trying hard to keep the river clean. hardの位置を問う問題なのですが、納得できない点がありました。 ●疑問点 ここにあるhardは副詞であり、 are tryingを修飾してると思います。 そこで疑問に思ったのが to keep the river clean.はto不定詞の名詞的用法となっているので V+Oの間に 副詞のhardがはいらないと考えました。 副詞は V+Oに間にはいらないという原則があるからです。 なぜ、V+Oの間に副詞がはいるのだろう？ are tryingは自動詞の役割なら納得できます。 そうすると、自動詞+直後に副詞となるからです。 また、to keep the river clean.は副詞的用法となるので 理解ができます。 ●疑問 辞書で調べると try to do のtryは他動詞とありました。 では、なぜ V+Oの間に副詞をいれるのでしょうか。 O にto不定詞の名詞的用法がくる場合は、例外的なのでしょうか？ よろしくお願いします
