英文の違いを教えてください

know は「知っている」の意味です（「知る」ではありません）。 解答の例文が found out となっているのは find out に「知る」という意味があるからです。 find out の代わりに learn でもいいと思います（ちょっと硬い表現ですが）。 また、 this week が文頭に来ているのは、「知ったのが今週」だからです。文末に置くと「失業したのが今週」となります。

英文和訳です。 The family took in 8 kittens over the weekend. They had 8 kittens from three different litters, and two mama cats, arrive at their doors this weekend. 第2文の意味がよく取れません。 「3匹の母猫から生まれた8匹の子猫がいますが、今週末には2匹の母猫がきます。」 でよろしいのでしょうか。 カンマの位置の意味とthree different littersの中の2匹の母猫なのかどうかが疑問です。 本文には他にこの内容が分かるような記述がありません。 ヒントいただければありがたいです。よろしくお願いします。

For the reasons, some people attempt suicide.

下の英文の和訳と、質問の答えがほしいです よろしくおねがいします I had my first pair of white trousers and the world ahead held no heartbreak or fear. the wordl～以下の和訳がよく分かりません holdは「心に抱く」という意味らしいのですが、 例文を見ても、主語は人ばかりです I had my～のhaveはtrousersが目的語の「穿く」という意味らしいので、 hadを第五文型SVOOにとってthe wordl～以下を解釈するんじゃないと思うのですが・・・ 過去分詞にとるのでしょうか？ でもholdに第五文型SVOOの用法なんて無いですよね・・・ どう訳せばいいのでしょうか？ An older person might have had too much common sense to cry. oldの比較級olderなのですが、 これはどうやって訳すのでしょうか？ わざわざ比較級になっているので、 普通に「年老いた～」では駄目だと思っているのですが・・・
