Can the prosecutor request to extend a suspect's detention to do interrogations after the suspect has plead the right to remain silent, without violating the suspect's right not to be tortured?

Can I ask why you prefer 尋問 over 取調べ ? Is the meaning different?

I ask this because on the extension form the prosecutor uses the word 取調べ this is the same as the police.

When you read 取調べ　do you think anything other than "interrogations"? = the police trying to get a statement?
