＞「この4年間でいくつこの犬小屋をうったのですか？/売れたのですが？」 ⇒How many doghouses of this type「このタイプの、この手の犬小屋をいくつ」としたらいかがでしょう。「犬小屋」は、doghouseのほかにkennelもあります。（その昔、「犬（ケン）寝る」などというゴロ合わせで覚えたものです、笑）。kennelは、「大型の犬小屋」ですから、doghouseの方が一般的でしょうね。なお、dog houseと分かち書きしません。 →How many doghouses of this type have you sold for these four years? How many kennels of this type have been sold for these four years?

プレゼンのパワーポイントで、クイズとして、「○○の範囲はここ４０年間で何倍に増えたでしょうか？」という文章を考えたのですが、 “How many times the range of ○○ was increased by in these 40 years ?” というのを考えました。きれいな英語でなくてもいいのですが、これで意味はとおりますか？ 倍というのはfoldじゃないと通じないのでしょうか？ ご回答、どうかよろしくお願いいたします。

- 杉で作ってもらった犬小屋の悪臭が物凄い
私は犬を外で3匹飼っています。 オーダーメイドの犬小屋製作工房で杉で犬小屋を作ってもらったのですが 飼って半年くらいすると物凄い悪臭で。杉が匂いを吸収すると説明していたので、杉で作ってもらうと犬の匂いはしないのかと思っていましたが、凄く臭いです。犬小屋の中がもう凄い匂いで木の嫌な匂いと犬の匂い、オシッコが木に染み付いて真っ黒になっています。こういう場合は何か対策は無いでしょうか。一度水で中を洗って洗剤でもゴシゴシやったのですが木に染みており全然取れません、良い方法を知っている方お願いします。

Some of them are about how dogs help or even save their masters, some of them are about how dogs travel great distances to find their families. One of the nicest stories is about John, a small black and white dog with big ears who lived in America. One August, John's family, the Bensons, went on holiday to California and, of course, took John with them. While they were on holiday, John got lost. The family spent the rest of their holiday looking for him but without success. At the end of their holiday, they sadly went back home to New York. Before they left, they put photographs of John in all the shop windows in the area. During the next six months John crossed the whole of America to find his family in New York. He walked over 2,000 miles or maybe he hid on trains and buses. Nobody knows how he did it. When John got to the Bensons' house, it was in the middle of winter and the family was away visiting some friends. The window of their neighbor's car was open, so John jumped in and went to sleep. That night, it snowed and snowed and it continued snowing for a week. New York City has long had an important place in American history. For millions of immigrants in the 19th and 20th centuries, it was their point of entry into the USA. Greeting them was the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France to the USA in 1886. The city is also the home of the United Nations, the New York Stock Exchange, and the offices of many international companies. The city is made up of five sections, or “boroughs”: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. Although the city is spread out, its 8.4 million residents can easily get around on the subway system, which has 26 routes and 468 stations. Every year, more than 1.6 million riders use the system. There is plenty to see and do in the city that never sleeps. People love visiting the Empire State Building, Central Park, and Rockefeller Center. Plus, there are great museums like the Met and MoMA. Attending shows on Broadway, enjoying concerts at Lincoln Center, taking in games at famous stadiums, and eating at fancy restaurants are also popular with locals and tourists. With today's movies, it's becoming harder to tell what is and isn't real. Thanks to computers, moviemakers can now put their imaginations to full use. There’s even a new type of character ― made entirely by computers ― which is getting more and more screen time. Making the impossible look easy has always been a part of movie magic. As far back as 1895, filmmakers used special effects in movies. Over the years, many new techniques were developed. Then, starting in the 1970s, computers took their place at the center of the process. One of the first movies to widely use 3D computer-generated imagery (CGI) was Tron (1982). In the years following Tron, more CGI characters were brought to life one by one. Then, in 1993, Jurassic Park brought us an island full of man-eating dinosaurs, Toy Story (1995) became the first cartoon made entirely with 3D CGI effects. It was a big hit, and audiences loved the characters. By using “motion capture” technology filmmakers can make the movements of CGI “humans” even more lifelike. With this technique, a real actor wears sensors on his or her face and body. The sensors record the actor’s movements and send the information to a computer. Then the movements are given to a CGI character. This technique was used to make the creature Gollum in the second and third The Lord of the Rings movies (2002, 2003). Other films, like Avatar (2009), have also used motion capture techniques to help create CGI characters. It is still rather easy to tell that a CGI human is not real. But the technology is improving every year. Over time, many problems (like the teeth and eyes looking fake) will surely be solved. We will also see more CGI animals, monsters, and people in movies and TV shows. The question is, in the future, how many real actors will be put out of work by computer actors?
