翻訳していただきたく思います。inside
１「車の中に私の財布がないか見てくれる（確認してくれる）？」 ２「城内にかろうじで入る事ができた。」観光時間終了間際に入れたと言う場面 １なのですが、can /could you check/see if there is my wallet inside the car?で大丈夫でしょうか？また（～があるかどうか）を表す表現を教えて頂きたく思います。 ２は１We could go into the inside of the castle just in time. ２We could go into the castle inside just in time. ３We barely enter the inside of castle.で大丈夫でしょうか？ ～の中を を表す場面にinsideを使う時、前置詞や名詞用法が多いような気がするのですが、形容詞の後置修飾で表す事（２ー２）は不自然でしょうか？ よろしくお願いします。

＃２です。 Can/Could you check/see if my wallet is in the car? やCan you search,see my wallet in the car ? のin the car は副詞句として動詞を修飾（車の中を～）との理解で宜しいでしょうか？ ⇒ そう考えても良いと思いますが、敢えて副詞句とか前置詞句とか分析しなくても、「車の中を～」「車の中で～」「車の中に～」で動詞を修飾しているとも、文全体を修飾しているともとらえられどうとらえても英語の意味は変わらないので深く考えないほうが良いと思うのですが。。。 また、inside は 名詞として使え、ofを続ける場合はthe inside ofとすべきなのでしょうか？ 実際の英文ではI had inside of my stomach examined とあるのですが。 ⇒ 私もthe inside of my stomach としたほうが自然に思えるし、ググるとそう言う例文が多く引っかかります。inside (insides) には、内臓の内膜、内部と言う意味もあるのでひょっとしたら、the で限定しないで、一般的に胃のなかと言う言い方をしているのかも知れませんね。 またwithinと同義で用いることができるとのことなのですがこれは前置詞用法との理解で宜しいでしょうか？例えばThe bathroom is in side of hospital.のような用法です。 ⇒ その理解と思います。

1. は大丈夫です。もっとシンプルに、 Can/Could you check/see if my wallet is in the car? でも十分です。 言い回しを工夫すればするほど聞き手も本当は何が言いたいのか深読みし始めます。例えば、「～があるかどうか」は直訳すると、whether there is my wallet inside the car? でも良いのですが、if there is my wallet だと、ぱっと見てなければ「見当たらないよ」と答えますが、whether だと、見当たらなければ本当に無いことを確認するために車の中をあちこち探す感じ。insideだと、in よりも内部の構造的なニュアンスも出て来るので余計真剣になります。 2. は、go into → get in, the inside of は入りません、just in time -> just before the entrance closed で、 We could get in the castle just before the entrance closed. 微妙な違いですが、go into だと、中に向かって進んでいくget in 、外側と内側想像されてget in でその内にいることを得る。入場門が閉まる直前に内側にいることができたニュアンスが出ます。 3.ここではbarely も使えますがちょっと大げさかな。確かに、もうだめなところだったけどなんとか入れた、ほとんどだめなところだったけどなんとかか入れた、のニュアンスはありますが、入ったはいいけどその後お城を見て回る余力が感じられません。narrowly もほぼ同じですが、ちょっと大げさかと。 manage to は、「なんとか～する」で使えますが、この場合使い方として、 We could manage to reach at the castle just before the entrance closed. 時間や移動手段をやりくりしてなんとか城にたどり着いた。これをmanage to get in, manage to go into にすると、中に入るためにあれこれ手を使ったように聞こえます。 2-2 この言い方は無いと思います。そもそもgo into と言っているわけですから、inside をもう一個使う必要はありません。

どれも通じるとは思います。 1. は check out my wallet とした方がいいかも。 Can/could you check out my wallet in the car? でもいいのでは？ 2. は manage を用いることもできるかも。 we could manage to enter the castle in time. とか。 3. の enter という動詞には "to come or go into a particular place" という意味があり (この定義は下記URLの辞書から引用)、元々 「～ の内部に」 という意味が含まれているので、inside は不要だと思います。
