こんばんは。 先日、ローレンス・オリヴィエ監督/主演の『王子と踊子』を観ました。 全体的によく出来ていて楽しめたのですが、疑問があります。 まず、中盤、戴冠式に参列したエルシー（Ｍ・モンロー）が 涙するシーンが描かれますが、彼女はなぜ泣いたのでしょうか？ 検索してみるとあのシーンは、アメリカという若い国に生まれた彼女が、 イギリス王室の伝統的・歴史的行事に立ち会えたことに対する憧れと感動を描いているのだ、 というような解釈を見つけたのですが、この解釈は一般的、もしくは妥当なのでしょうか。 皆様の解釈と併せて、お話頂きたいです。 もうひとつは『王子と踊子』という邦題についてなのですが、 作中に「王子」という立場の人物は一度も出てきませんよね。 （“カルパチア国王”のニコラスが16歳なので、そもそも「王子」が存在するはずがない） これは単純に誤訳なのでしょうか？ 原題は“The Prince and the Showgirl”で、“Prince”には「王子」の他に「大公」という意味もあるそうなので、 原題は単純にチャールズ大公（オリヴィエ）とエルシーのことを指しているのではと思うのですが。 こちらも皆様のご意見をお聞かせ下さい。 作品をご覧になった方、どうかご回答下さいますようお願いいたします。

もうすぐ長男のウィリアムと王子ケイトさんの結婚式が行われるようですが、実は弟のヘンリー王子にメディアが注目していて、わずか２５歳の王子の生き様は多くの人々を魅了し、映画化されることが決まっているようです。 ダイアナ妃の事故死や、継母のことで悩んでドラッグまで手を出してしまいましたが、イートン校卒業後、陸軍士官学校に入ってからは、極秘でタリバンを相手に前線の部隊で戦っていたこともあるようです。 そもそも王室の方で、軍で、アフガニスタンで戦いたい、などという話が普通になっているのもすごいですし、王子が自分を普通のように扱ってくれてうれしい、ヒーロー扱いするメディアに自分はヒーローではない、ヒーローは地雷で足をなくした兵士だと（勿論英語）で話しているのも以外でした。 この件で英国民の心をガッツリつかんだようです。 昨年はハリー王子はニューヨークも訪問していて、黒人の赤ちゃんを抱っこしたり、９．１１事件を追悼して、ソツなくポロの腕前も披露してたところはやはり王家の器だと思いました。 とても難しいかと思いますが、日本では気さくにするという簡単なことがどうしてうまくいかないのでしょうか？
