I wish there were no things such as exams. 訳すとーー（たとえば）試験といったようなモノがなければいいのに。 この場合、試験はほんの一例にすぎず、そういう類のものがなければいいのにということになります。この場合、準備が大変なものなのか、点数で評価されるものなのか、静かにじっと取り組むモノなのか、何を言っているのかわかりませんね。 I wish there were no things such as exams or tournaments. となれば、ああ、評価されたり、競ったりすることを言っているのだなとわかりますね。こういうとき、such asを使います。なお、such asの後に名詞を１つだけ持ってくるのもいけなくはありませんが、なるべく２つ持ってくるように書くことをおすすめします。 また、no thingsという言い方にも抵抗があります。nothingでいいのにーーというわけです。 また、suchも合いません。 I wish there were nothing like exams.というのが普通です。(wereは仮定法ですからwasでなくてよい）。 I wish there were no such things as exams. こちらの文は、examsのようなものがなければいいのにーーということで、examsだけなくなってくれてもいいことになります。nothing like examsですと、他にも何かあってまとまってなくなってくれればいいーーのような感じになります。 以上、ご参考になればと思います。

"I wish there were no such things as exams"というより、日常の英語で "I wish we didn't have exams"の方は正しいと思います。 文法的に"I wish there were no such things as exams"は正しくないではないのに、このように（アメリカ人として）あまり話しません。

??? nothing like ～って、「～のようなものはない」という意味では? no such things as examsは、no [such things as exams]ということ no things such as examsとしてしまうと、[no things] such as examsとなって no things ≒ examsという奇妙な関係ができあがってしまう 意味からして不可です

no things とせずに nothing とします。 nothing like exmas なら正しいです。such は入りません。

現在英語の教師を目指して勉強中の者です。 とある参考書の英文を勉強していてsuch asという表現が使われていて、わからなくなったので質問させていただきました。 １、辞書で引いたところ Her actions were such as to offend everyone.という例文があり この例文の中の「as」の訳し方がわからないです。 asをなくしてHer actions were such to offend everyone.としてはいけなんでしょうか？ ２、「～ such as ～」と「such ～ as ～」の二つは同じ訳し方になっていますがこの二つにニュアンスの違いはあるのでしょうか？ 参考書の解説には「A such as B」は「たとえばBのようなA」とあり、訳的には納得できたんですが、どうして「たとえばBのようなA」という解釈になるのかが書いていなくて困っています。 もともとこの二つの単語は別のもであって、一緒に使われると「こういう訳になる」という解釈にはどうも納得がいきません。 いわゆる学校文法的ではなく単語単位での解釈ができるようになりたいと考えています。 単語単位での解釈ができた上で学校文法を知りたいです。 「決まりごとだから」とか「これはこれで覚えて」というのはなるべく避けたいです。 非常にややこしいですが ご教授いただければ助かります。

「I like watching TV such as a soccar, a baseball and I like to play the TV game of these. 」 この英文をまともな英文にしてください。 「私はサッカーや野球のテレビを見るのが好きです、そしてこれらのテレビゲームをするの「も」好きです。」 が理想です。しかし・・・現実は↓↓↓これです。 「I like watching TV such as a soccar, a baseball and I like to play the TV game of these. 」 自分流の「of these」も随分怪しいですが、その後ろに「too」を入れて更におかしくなりました。 「I like to more play」にしたらテレビゲームの方が好きになってしまうし、困っています。 「サッカーや野球のテレビゲーム「も」するのが好き」という表現にしたいです。 「私はサッカーや野球のテレビを見るのが好きです、そしてこれらのテレビゲームをするのも好きです。」 の英文を教えてください。
