日本語のまとまりが変ですね。 訳としては，日本語で「ものを言う」みたいな意味合いで 「何かを言ってくれる，教えてくれる」という直訳を 「何か」という部分に「重大なこと」という意味を見出し， 途中で混乱したのでしょうね。 重大であることがわかる。 くらいのつもりだったのではないでしょうか。
