英文和訳お願いします！
「 I knew there had to be a reason that I took up the double bass.」 chucklebrosというクリエイターの方の書いた漫画（挿絵？）の中のフレーズなのですが、意味が分かりません。 直訳は 「私がダブルバス（？）を取ることには理由があるはずであると私は知った」 となると思うのですが… どなたか分かる方、お願いします<m(__)m>

”やっぱり俺がダブル・バスを始めたのには意味があったんだよ。” と解釈しますが、大抵冗談交じりというか皮肉と言うか苦笑と言うか、の場合…（たとえばダブル・バスを始めたため持っていたその楽器でで泥棒をやっつけた）が多いですよね。もちろん真剣で言っている事もありますが。 こういう流れが合う内容でしょうか？
