英文の意味が分かりません
「her real name is Helene, as mine is Elisabeth, although everyone calls me Sisi for reasons unknown to me.」 という英文に出くわしました。 辞典を引きましたが、「as mine is Elisabeth」 の意味がさっぱり分かりません。 「as」の意味はなんなのでしょうか？ 訳を含め、どなたか教えてはくださいませんか。 宜しくお願い致します。

Asの意味として、辞書に「…と同様に」と載っていませんでしたか? 教科書的に訳すと 「彼女の本当の名前は、私の(本当の名前)がエリザベスというのと同様に、ヘレンです。 しかし私の知らない理由で、皆は私をシシと呼びます。」 ＊real name = 本名と訳してもいいのですが、「本名」だと「苗字と名前両方」を指すことがあるので「本当の名前」と訳しました。 自然な日本語ならNo.1さんのほうがよいと思います。
