By 1915, the majority of German forces, except for those holding out at the strongholds of Mora and Garua had withdrawn to the mountainous interior of the colony surrounding the new capital at Jaunde. In the spring of that year German forces were still able to significantly stall or repulse assaults by Allied forces. A German force under the command of Captain von Crailsheim from Garua even went on the offensive, engaging the British during a failed raid into Nigeria at the Battle of Gurin. This surprisingly daring incursion into British territory prompted General Frederick Hugh Cunliffe to launch another attempt at taking the German fortresses at Garua at the Second Battle of Garua in June, resulting in a British victory. This action freed Allied units in northern Kamerun to push further into the interior of the colony. This push resulted in the Allied victory at the Battle of Ngaundere on 29 June. Cunliffe's advance south to Jaunde, however, was stalled by heavy rains, and his force instead participated in the continuing Siege of Mora. When the weather improved, British forces under Cunliffe moved further south, capturing a German fort at the Battle of Banjo in November and occupying a number of other towns by the end of the year. By December, the forces of Cunliffe and Dobell were in contact and ready to conduct an assault of Jaunde. In this year most of Neukamerun was occupied by Belgian and French troops, who also began to prepare for an assault on Jaunde.

英文の和訳で困っています 和訳を教えていただきたいです よろしくお願いします!! Elsewhere in the city M. Holconius Rufus appears again, this time with his brother Holconius Celer, another leading figure in the imperial cult and the local administration, carrying out major alterations to the large theatre: they built a crypta (probably an annular corridor which supported an extra tier of seating at the back of the auditorium), tribunalia (the boxes constructed over the side-passages, or parodoi, which led to the area in front of the stage), and the theatrum, (presumably the seating in general). Apparently the Holconii not only enlarged and refurbished the auditorium but also, by adding tribunalia, completed the conversion of the theatre from its old Hellenistic form, in which the auditorium was separate from the stage-building, to something approaching the standard Roman type in which the two elements were unified in a single structure. Investing in civic theatres was a widespread cultural phenomenon of the reign of Augustus, for which the emperor himself set a precedent by his dedication of the monumental Theatre of Marcellus in Rome. A further major building of the Augustan period cannot, for lack of evidence, be connected with any individual benefactors but fits the same pattern of conformance to government ideology: the so-called Large Palaestra, situated next to the amphitheatre.

Moreover, its location at a busy crossroads two streets north of the forum was well suited to advertise the cult and, with it, the munificence and political correctness of the donor. The land on which the temple was built formed part of Tullius’s private property, and he was fortunate to be able to turn this circumstance to advantage. Another prominent citizen of the Augustran period was M.Holconius Rufus, who held all the chief posts in the local administration, acted as a priest of the imperial cult, and like Tullius was rewarded by the emperor with a grant of the military tribute. During his third tenure of the duvirate, i.e., not long before 2 BC, the year of his fourth tenure, he and his fellow duovir, C. Egnatius Postumus, built a wall which obstructed the lights of houses adjacent to the Sanctuary of Apollo. An inscription found in the sanctuary records the compensation paid to the householders who were affected.

Needing to recruit at least 500 people in Britain this year for construction jobs it has already won, the company is constrained by a shortage of engineers, partly because engineering has not been a popular field of study in the country’s universities.
