英語の正誤問題と穴埋め問題について教えてください。

(1)下記の文章が正誤問題でありまして How do you call this animal by English? ×by→○in だとまでは気付きました。しかしHowじゃなくてwhatではないのか?と疑問がわきました。 正しい文を教えてください。 (2)穴埋め問題で We will go there，rain ( )shine．雨が降ろうが降らまいが という和訳付きでカッコには1単語が入ります。 whetherかと考えましたが or notがないと使えませんよね? かといって or だけだと意味をなさない気がします。 カッコに入る単語を教えて下さい。 よろしくお願いします。

日本語では「何」と「どう」が、入れ替え可能なことが多いですが、英文和訳の時は、固定させた方がいいです。 what　・・・「何」と覚えておきます。考えたり、話したりした「内容」を訪ねる時に使います。 What are you thinking?　「何を考えていますか。」　考えている内容を聞いています。 What did you say?　「何と言いましたか。」　言ったことの内容を聞いています。 What do you call .... 「... を何と呼びますか。」　... の名前を聞いています。 how ・・・「どう」「どのように」と覚えます。様子や手段、程度などを聞きます。疑問詞の中では意味が広いです。 　　How do you speak? 「どんなふうに話しますか。」　話し方を聞きます、「早口で」「大声で」とかが答えです。 　※だから　How do you call ... ? とはなりません。　声の出し方を聞いているわけではありませんので。

No2です． 　この問題はもう解決したのだと思っていましたが，質問者さんがNo4の方の回答に対するお礼の中で「なぜwhatでよいか理由を教えていただけますか?」と問われていましたので，僭越ながら私の方から説明します． 　それは call という動詞が，第５文型 SVOC の中で「OをCと呼ぶ」という代表的用法を持っているからです．ここで，通常Cは名詞です．易しい例を２つ程挙げます． We call the boy Tom.「我々はその男の子をトムと呼んでいます」SVOC のOが the boy，Cが Tom He called me a liar.「彼は私をうそつきと呼んだ」 SVOC のOが me，Cが a liar 　もし，Oの呼び方が分らずこれを尋ねるとすると，Cの部分を疑問詞代名詞 what に置き換え，これは前置されます．例えば， 　　What do you call the boy?　「あなた方はその男の子を何と呼んでいるのですか」 　この文の what を how に換えた文 　　How do you call the boy? も可能性的にはゼロではありませんが，この文の意味する所は， 　　「あなたはその男の子にどんなうふうにして電話をかけるのですか」 或いは 　　「あなたはその男の子をどんなふうにして呼び出すのですか」 のような意味を表すと思います． (前者は例えば，携帯の電波が届かない所で公衆電話をさがすか，見知らぬ人の家の固定電話を拝借するか…等を問う場面，後者は例えば，携帯で呼び出すのか，それともその男の子の家は近くだから家まで直接歩いて行って呼び出すのか…等を問う場面) 　上のような立場に立てば，お示し英文 　　 (　　　　) do you call this animal in English? では，how が入る余地はないと思います．

(1) What ...? が正しいです。 (2) or でいいです。 　※この用法は大昔の流行語大賞が消えずにそのまま残った表現です。it とか if とか、もっと単語がつきそうな感じがします。 当時のお年寄りは「最近の若い者は言葉がなっとらん」とか文句をつけたらしいです。

How, What, どれでも良いんじゃないんですか？ ニュアンスの違いといえば、 What do you call ~?　 名詞だけで答えられます。例えば「犬(dog)です」 How do you call ~?　単語、語句、文章やパラフレーズで答えられます。例えば「犬(dog), ドギー(doggie)、プーチ(pooch)とかケイナイン(canine)です」　 そんな感じですね。 (2) rain (or )shine．雨でも晴れでも、晴雨を問わず、どんなことがあっても、
