英文の訳
Previous examples have made clear that if we are measuring height of people, then we must understand and declare our assumptions to ensure unambiguous measurement. の訳が分かりません。どなたか訳してもらえないでしょうか？

人間の身長を測る場合、間違いの無い計測をするための前提となるものを 理解し、示さなければならないという事は、前述の例で明らかである。

to ensure .... は英語的には副詞句ではなく our assumptions にかかる形容詞句だと思います。 「曖昧でない測定を確かにするための我々の前提」（直訳） ここでは assumptions は「前提」というよりは、「基準」に置き換えて考えるとすっきりすると思います。 we must understand and declare our assumptions... は「前提があることを認めて明言せざるを得ない」（直訳）と言う感じです。 意味としては、「前の例ではっきりしたように、人々の身長を測るにしても、正確な測定のための前提があることが認められる」という感じ。

前例で明らかになったように、もし我々が人の身長を計るならば、はっきりとした測定を確かなものとするために、仮説を明らかにし理解する必要がある。 具体例：Aを食べた人は身長が高くなるという仮説を立てたとして、それを実証するためにたくさんの人の身長を測ったとしても、Aを食べたかどうかを調べていなければ意味が無い、つまり実証したい仮説が何だか分からずに闇雲に身長だけ調べても意味が無いというようなこと、、じゃないかな。 ご参考までに、

もし我々が人の身長を計っていたら、曖昧さの無い計測が可能だという前提がどんなものか理解出来るということが、以前の例で、明らかになった。 ＞ 人の身長を測ってみれば、曖昧さの無い計測なんてあり得ないことが、以前の例で、はっきりしたはず。
