Meteological Office announced on Thursday (Sept. 1st) that the average temperature between June and August this year recorded the highest ever since they started observations in 1898.

The average temperature this summer was 1.64C higher than average year.

M.O. has ascribed the main cause of this all-time extreme heat as very strong thermodynamic Pacific anticyclone overlying Japanese archipelago.

According to the announcement by fire authorities, the number of those who were carried to hospitals by heat disorder amounted to 28,440, which was 4.3 times higher than the same month last year, approximately half of whom were senior citizens.

The Weather Bureau concluded that the main cause of this unprecedented high temperature was the very powerful Pacifific Ocean high pressure staying over Japan.
According to the Fire Department as many as 28,448 people were treated for heat stroke numbering 4.3 times as many as the preceding year. Of these about half were the aged.
