もうちょっと前段がないとはっきりとわからないですが、メディアとしてのテレビについてのゴシップかなぁと想像して、以下のように思いました。 the network has launched more personalities into pop culture than any other cable outlet, including Jenny McCarthy,Ben Stiller and Cindy Crawford ＝ そのネットワーク（いわゆる地上波放送のネットワーク、もしくは、CATVのネットワーク。いずれにしてもテレビチャンネルのこと）は、ほかのどんなケーブルテレビのチャンネルよりも多くのキャラクターを輩出してきた。たとえば、Jenny McCarthy,Ben Stiller and Cindy Crawford。 最初のthe networkは、ABCか、MTVを指してるのかなぁと想像してます。

英文 Newsweek 2010年3月15号 36ページ の右側のコラムの下から7行目です。Japanese were more dissatisfied with the direction of their country than almost any other nation, including Pakistan and Russia. の any other nation のnation がnations となぜ複製形にならないかわかりません。 すみません、私の知識が正しくないのかもしれませんが、any other の後は 名詞の複数形、と理解していますので、この英文が納得できないのです。ご参考までに、日本語のニューズウィークの和訳は、「日本人はパキスタンやロシアを含めたほとんどの国の国民より自国の針路に不満を抱えていた。」です。この和訳を見ても、nation は複数形が正しいと思うのですが、いかがですか？ 何卒よろしくお願いします。

英文を見てください。口語体で友達に話すときのような感じの表現が知りたいです。 「彼ともう1ヶ月くらい会ってないの・・・いや、実際はこの前偶然（道端で）会って、それはすごく嬉しかったけど、2人とも急いでてゆっくり話せなかったの。彼から早く電話が来るといいな」 I haven't seen him for about a month... well, that's not really true. I actually got to run into him the other day, which I was really glad (about?), but we were both in a hurry and didn't have much time to talk.
