このthoughとitはどういう風に捉えれば・・・?
There are times when the sea is nearly still , though no doubt even when it looks like glass there are waves in it too small for us to see. 「」 『・・・, though no doubt even・・・』 の部分のthoughの意味はどういう意味ですか? コンマで切れているので「けれども～」ではないと思い、 辞書を見てみると「たとえ～でも」もあてはまりそうですし、 見た事がない用法ですが「最も～だが」の意味もあてはまりそうです 『・・・there are waves in it too small for us to see.』 の英文の構造がよく掴めなくて、 itはinの目的語だとして、後ろの『too～』がどう掛かっているのか分かりません too～to構文なのは分かっているのですが・・・ too以降が副詞としてareに掛かっているのですか? itとsmallの「名詞←形容詞」の関係の間にtoo～toが入ったと考えるのですか? よく分かりません・・・

There are times when the sea is nearly still , though no doubt even when it looks like glass there are waves in it too small for us to see. There are times when the sea is nearly still. (海がなぎのときがある） But it is no doubt even when it looks like glass (flat face), there are waves in it(=the sea) (which is) too small for us to see. という感じで書き換えて理解するといいかもしれません。 Though,though は、日本人には分かり難い言葉だと思います。恐らく直訳はできないか、しても、ぴんとこないのではないでしょうか？ ほとんど、butに近い感じなのですが、文の最後につけて、「～なんだけどね（よくわかんない）」のようなニュアンスで使っています。 蛇足みたいなときに、使うことも多いです。

No one in my family, including myself, wants to spend time with my mom. She can be really toxic. She has hurt me all my life, and, really, everyone I love. I stopped asking my husband and kids to go with me a while ago. In fact, I limited my children's exposure to her when they were growing up, but they still have scars from stuff she did or said when they were young adults; it's difficult to be prepared for the truly awful stuff she says and does, even when warned your whole life. Even though I know all this and I'm normally pretty pragmatic, I am finding it tough to just cut my mom off. We've had so many conversations over the years about the things she says and does, but she is never going to change because she just doesn't get it. It's almost like punishing a fish for bad behavior. She never accepts accountability for anything, and never sees the damage. By the time she comes over, though, I reckon they will all have fallen. 花が満開だが、彼女が来るときには散っちゃうだろうね、 といった文章ですが、 though の 位置がなぜここなのか分かりません。 花は今満開だ。彼女が来るまでには、「しかーし」散っちゃうね って感じで、変じゃないですか？ なぜここなのでしょうか。By の前なら分かるのですが。 でも though は、but のような接続詞ではなく、副詞のようですね。 だからでしょうか？ though を消して、 By の前に but を置くと、同様の意味になりますか？

こんにちは。英語の文法の勉強をしているのですが、Even thoughとEven if、Even whenの大きな違いがよくわかりません。例えば、Even though I was very tired, I couldn't sleep.という文章がありますが、なぜEven whenだとダメなのでしょうか？疲れている時でさえ、眠れないという意味からすると不自然ではないようなのですが、すみませんが、教えて下さい。
