たとえば、 「彼はこの分野では専門家であるとの評判である」は、 1) He has the reputation of being an expert in the field. であり、 2) He has the reputation of an expert in the field.　ではありません。 この場合のofは「所属」ではなく「同格」です。 つまり、 the reputation＝being an expert であり、 the reputation≠an expert　なわけです。 同様に、この事例ofも同格のofであり、 distinction（特徴）＝being dwelling that～（～という居住施設であること）であり distinction（特徴）≠dwelling that～（～という居住施設）　なわけです。
