The population of Tokyo is larger than that of London. が正しいと昔学校で習いました。 The population of Tokyo is larger than Londonだと、「東京の人口」と「ロンドン」という異なるものの比較になってしまう、という理由だったかと。

The population of A city is three times larger than that of B city. は可能ですが The population of A city is three times the size of B city. というのは可能なのでしょうか？もしくは The population of A city is three times the size of the population of B city. なら可能なのでしょうか？ お願いします！！
